had know where to run - nowhere
all my efforts where in vain - were
Keimosobie, what a loving poem, filled with appreciation and gratitude for this woman who saved your life, at least emotionally. I hear so many horrible things about the foster care system that it is great to hear a huge success story. I'm so sorry your mother gave you up like that, but what a happy ending you had because of this woman, whose story you tell so well in your rhyming couplets. Brooke :-)

This poem deserves a six star rating and more. As I read it, I could feel your pain. Your words touched my heart
and made me realize that there are so many children in this world that go through what you did, each day of their lives. And it makes me even more thankful that I was blessed with a loving mother and father, both are gone now,
but definitely not forgotten. And thanks to your father, for giving the ultimate sacrifice. I served during that era also, but was lucky enough to come home in one piece.
You wrote such a touching poem about your foster mother,
please consider writing about your father and the
55,000 other troops that did not come home alive from
that crazy war. With your talent, you'll do just fine and I will be watching for it. God Bless you.

This is a lovely poem to tell about a selfless love of
your foster mother and how she nurtured and care for
you at a time when you needed so badly. Great rhyming.
There are few changes to be made. Santa's add apostrophe
and also I'll needs an apostrophe. Also, you might leave off
the second all - all my efforts were (all) in vain
just put all my efforts were in vain. Just a suggestion.
I'm sure your foster mom would love to read this poem. Good luck on the contest.

Your poem is an excellent tribute to your foster mother.
Dear foster mother I hope I'm not late.
Ill never know of your fate. This line disturbed me. Where is she and what happened to her?
ILL=I'll
Otherwise the poem is fine.

Thanks for letting me know about your new post. It's beautiful and quite a tribute to her. It'd be great if she could see it. What a blessing that would be. Great job!

This poem is a reminiscent of a child being left her mom and she is wondering all about her past. She was left at an early age and stayed in an orphanage and now deeply longing for her biological mom. She says, "You never know how much I needed you--Everyday you labored and toiled--I could nto know what you have done...I was in pain and did not know where to run...I remember when I was three and I sat on santas (santa's) knee. Addressing her foster mother she said, "Dear foster mother I hope I'm not late I'll never know of your fate...But I need to say I know what you did a hero for me and my love I do bid."

This is a beautiful poem. You put so much heart into it. I can't even imagine not having had my mom growing up. She was such a big part of my life. I write a lot about her. I'm so sorry you had to go through this, but this is a wonderful tribute to someone who didn't have to do this. Thank you for sharing.

Your welcome and thanks I know its personal but i want to move people I dont know why.
-
It's just something that is in some of us, that need to move people. I think it is usually those of us who have come from difficult backgrounds. We have emotions pent up inside of us that need to come out. I understand completely. Most all of my writing is usually meant to move people.
