This was written concisely the characters became clear in the span of a sentance without being simple. A realistic and emotional struggle is played out through a single argument which is a good narrative technique also the quality of the writing stops the reader thinking it impractical for all this to come out over a single instance of flirting. The first paragraph leads you to believe this may not be a hopeful story but it ends in an uplifting tone with a powerful statement of intent from the lead character who captivates the readers attention.

This is definitely the story of a strong character - I really like that we are there at the turning point in her life when she finally sticks up for her authentic self and not what her father has tried to force her to be. This story has great emotion and strong drama - a most engaging read with good dialogue to boot. Good luck in the contest, Marijke. Brooke :-)
