Well written non-fiction story. I'm glad you found a suitable day care situation in the end. I agree that a little learning/education can be a dangerous thing. Thanks for sharing this.

Each child has a different personality and must be evaluated as an individual and treated accordingly. This is very well written with good imagery and descriptive scheme. Good luck in your contest.

Thank you for the review and comment. It is very true. My children were all raised alike but they all reacted to things differently.

Hi, Beth. Interesting story. Obviously the day care owner is violating your son's right. How can he pee when he is not relaxed? I'm glad finally all went well (and no therapy is needed for the damage). I like reading these stories. They give me insight of child rearing and understanding children.

Belinda, It is a very true story. Everything in it happened to me. I have an easier time writing about my life than making something up. THanks so much for the review and comments.

My youngest was in a situation when he was 5, where his teacher kept telling me she had a masters degree in Early chilhood. I wondered when she was going to start using it.
she never did.
This was very good. I'm glad you found a decent daycare.
I assured him that everyone (You don't need that.)

The trauma of childcare for the child and the parent - well told from both the child and parent's POV. Reading this, I am amazed at how closely in replicates the horror stories I hear all the time from working mothers. One truth rings true - children know who cares for them.

Ggggrrrr! How on earth did you keep your hands off her! Kids are so easily traumatised at that young age, it must have been truly awful for you - especially after poor Carol caught hepatitis! What a nightmare.
I've never liked leaving my kids with anyone else but family - and then only one aged 18 or over. When this government made nursery school compulsory, I nearly had kittens worrying, but fortunately, the local primary school had a nursery attached which was staffed by the most wonderful people.
This is a very well written account of a dreadful dilemma. I have so enjoyed reading it, but at the same time, I felt so much for your worry and the children's anxiety.
great stuff, Beth.
Good luck in the contest.
Warmest wishes

Thanks Kat, The hepatitis thing was really a nightmare. I was so worried I lost about fifteen pounds in two weeks because I couldn't eat The second week her lymph nodes under both arms swelled and the doctor didn't think it had anything to do with the hepatitus. They thought she had car scratch fevor but the tests for that was negative. They never did find what made the lymph nodes swell. I think Don did have some fears later on that he wouldn't have had if it had not been for those incidents at the daycare. Raising kids is an obsticle course. I glad I'm through with doing that.

I enjoyed reading you daycare story. I could relate to the narrator's problems and concerns. I am glad the story had a happy ending and the children ended up happy and the Mom was content with her choice. This is a well told tale that I am sure many people can relate to the main character's experiences.

I enjoyed this story. You get right to the point in the first paragraph and it continued to hold my interest because so many people can relate to a mother's worries about her children. You write well in that you tell the story in a direct way, no superfluous descriptions. I'm guessing you had to compress the whole experience down and you did a really good job of it without leaving questionable gaps in it.

This story is all to common, this has happened to a lot of people. We really don't know who we are leaving our children with.

This is so true. Even when something is highly recommended it still bears investigating, particularlly if your children are having problems. Thanks for your review and comments.
