Oh, Dear God! That is Terrible! Sometimes I wonder how we survive some of the things that happen in our lives as we raise our children and muddle through each day. Great job telling the story. I sat here with my mouth ajar while reading it. Well done, Beth. Nancy:)

I think this might have been one of the worst of the many crazy episodes in my life. I was so weak during the time before the surgery I really believed I would probably die. I guess we're stronger than we think we are. I know life isn't going well for you right now but I pray things will get better. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

The scenes were set well; the characters well defined and I'm tired just reading what you went through! I trust life has calmed down for you now and a more peaceful existence is enjoyed! lol. I saw no spag and I enjoyed the read. ann

My life still gets a little crazy at times, but I do live alone now and I can't cause too much trouble all by myself. Most of the time, things are managable. LOL Thank you for the review and comments.

Truth is indeed stranger than fiction. What a horrible time you went through. It is amusing in a dark kind of way. Thank God you made it through it all. The story flows well and keeps my interest throughout. The transition betweeen paragraphs is particularly good; one segues into another easily with enough of a thread to show the connection. Fine work.

Oh my god, no wonder you will never forget this time in your life. It started slow with one major problem then turned into complete chaos. This was very well written and wont say that I enjoyed it because of the subject matter. I am out of breath reading it.

This was good to read, even if I cried, frowned, smiled and laughed all in one short piece. Broke my leg and just spent a week in hospital and am currently at sister's beach house--where it happened. I will be unable to do much even on-line. So, reading your stuff will help a lot.

I wondered where you were. I missed having you read my posts. I'm so sorry about your leg. It must have been an awful break. Here we are lucky if we even get to stay overnight with a broken leg. Thank you for reading and commenting.

That what I call edge of the seat intensity from this side of the story. It is very nicely written and kept my interest. You were not kidding in you title! Wow, that's enough "life" to last for years. I love the "What's the number to 911" I cracked up laughing. I wish you best of luck in everything in the future.

Well, Beth- -your title sure says it all- -what a situation or should I say situations you've written about her- -and all when you are feeling like a rag and hank of hair, needing surgery, feeling weak from blood loss, the firecracker burning the leg, your responsible twins, your youngest and her friend's carelessness, the fire which did considerable damage, the wrecked car in what sounds like a matter of a couple of weeks.- -But look what came out of it- -this write- -and well done. Your last line says it all--how boring life would be without a 'little'(?) excitement- -this was more like over the top excitement.

Thank you.

I worked with a nurse who stated she liked all her problems at once so she could get them over with. I think I swore at her, at the time I was going through several life issues. Writing is therapeutic and helpful when looking back at stuff we go through. This is a well written piece that many can relate to.

Thanks for the review and comments. It seems mine often come in bunches but I've never had all my ducks in a row as my husband is fond of saying. That's life.

Great job, horrible story. At least you can find the humor in it now. The story of the tent made with chairs was perfect. I think evey child has made one of those.
I only saw one thing on my read.

take a bath and cool off(.)[,] " she told Don.

Keep up the good work,
Z

Thanks for the review and comments. I appreciate you telling me about the misplaced period. This story is something that is more amusing now that it was at the time.

problems I was experiencing heath-wise typo health-wise
Usually your family stories of things gone wrong are hysterically funny while this one is tragic in tone - how trying this year must have been for all of you! You show an excellent range in your writing by having this story so different in tone from what I am used to, using the same cast of characters. Your detail, as always, is exquisite and your dialogue spot on. Brooke

Thanks Brooke, I didn't mean for this to be tragic, but so much of it was painful. We do laugh about it now. Especially about Christi not knowing the number for 911. She'll never live that down. Sorry I couldn't make you laugh this time. Thanks for catching the spag.
