"Transcended" is a very creative and beautifully written poem. I didn't know much about the Vitruvian Man until reading about him in your notes. Educational and creative. Well done.

Strange, I believe that the converse is closer to the truth. Without man, even the concept of are does not exist. In a way, I answer the tree falling in the forest with that comment. But you make a fine presentation and my guess is that your final note is justification for your opinion. But it was not clear to me on one read and another read is not in the cards today. slainte, rhymer1

The converse is true in one sense because without man there would be no art. Hence, nothing to further discuss. My word "define" in the first instance means how art has been used to from the beginning of man to "mark" their existence. And the second use of "define" has a slightly difference connotation of the complete subjectivity that art truly is. One man thinks Warhol was not an artist. Another worships his art. So, just a bit of food for thought. Art is like the "chicken and egg" thing. And there is also the other question: "Does life imitate art or does art imitate life?" - One of those rhetorical questions that can never be answered. See? We're debating it already! Isn't that the beauty of all the arts! HA! Thanks so much for your very close read and honest review. So much appreciated, Sue

This I must say is the most excellent poem for the contest, and excellent in any way. I love this so much, thank you for writing it, and wish you so much luck, great writing as always.

The Vitruvian Man! Davinci's study of the human body and the endless relationships between various anatomy. I didn't read The Davinci Code until early last year and since this I have been fascinated by his mind and his art.

I have no 6's left to give out but this is worthy of a 7 Sue at least. It is a stroke of genius. You must be extremely proud of this one!

The choice of picture with its symmetry and the tetractys poem is brilliant. Well done. :)

An interesting idea here, and I think it works well, both as a Tetractys and simply as a thought. It certainly provkes thought. Good luck!
