I must try one of these. Love the shape and the restrictions. Love a challenge but you seem to have mastered it. Nice poem.

Sunlit, I do love the rictameter and highly recommend anyone to give it a try. And since you seem keen on it, you definitely should! It sure is a great way to exercise word choices! Thanks so much for your great review. With regards, Sue

A very nice poem about kindness. I like the comparison between kindness and a contagious disease that spreads good will among humans. kudos

Technical perfection. The content bears the weight of the poem and sends us a positive message. You resist generalities and summations. The use of simple language and multiple perspectives have given rise to only one interpretation, 'Live by the Golden Rule.' Succinct, direct, and you'll 'never fail.' Good job.

Gregory, thank you for your very close read and specific comments. Always a great help to keep learning! Good point about "resisting generalities and summations". Something that I did not do consciously, but now something for me to always keep in mind. Thank you for that. And for your great review! Sue

Sue, very nice piece of writing, I think.
For your next assignment, the class must consider a concise, yet perfectly clear, rhyming, without rhyme, in the style of the new and now quite popular, 'Brazilian-African American, Egyptian' Sonnet style. Must comply with the standard rules for this beautiful sonnet. No exceptions.
While not sponsoring the contest himself, please send donations of $10, US currency to Reggie. A $5 member cash entry fee should be sent to whome
ver decides to sponsor this non-controveresial contest. Reggie is not responsible for any site violations which will later be connected to this Ponzi scheme.
Unfortunately Reggie doesn't expect to net anywhere near the $50 Billion that Bernie Madoff collected from his operations. Reggie is innocent of any wrong doing should later should any part of this contest be deemed illegal especially concerning any monetary gains accidently benefiting Reggie.
That's his story and he's sticking with it.

Reggie, I like your style. Shhhh....cut me in on the deal. I'll sponsor under another identity...something that nobody could connect me to....like "sexteez". And you can go in as "ponzireg". Then, I win the contest (I'm THE premiere expert on that style sonnet you named!!) I take 40% because if we're caught, I take the rap. Besides, nobody would be Sheriff Reg would be involved in anything like this. Shhhh....... :-)) soozee

Beautiful sentiments structured
inside the confines of the
rictameter. set in a flowing
golden stream of kind words
that would make this world
so much better.
Well crafted and artistically
presented.

AH! Another Rictameter, A nice way to finish off my reviewing, A little slice of kindness can go a long way to putting a smile on a face and happiness to ones day, we all know it we just need to remember to practice it a little more often than we do. I will have another go at the Rictameter because the definitely tickle my fancy!

Hitch, I've been sifting through the reviews because I got so backed up. And here I didn't even respond to yours! Since you said you'll have another go at the Ric, I think I may go into self-punishment mode and sponsor another contest. Ha! Might do that today. Will let you know. Thanks for your review, friend. This is a great rictameter and it follows all the regulations of it. Being nice to people is always a great subject, we will never get enough of it.

You know, I'm starting to get a little envious. To me, writing poetry is a lot like pulling my own teeth out.
You seem to do it without effort. Again, a fine work; the message is simple, and above all, very true. Keep writing

I like your concept the "kindness...can be a contagion"--it even has alliteration.
The poem also has a bit of rhyme as it reminds us about the importance of humility. Thanks for sharing your reflections.

"The Golden Rule" is another beautifully written poem, this one as a rictameter. Perfectly written and told, it belongs in a Hallmark card somewhere. Well done.
