Trust is rooted both in our minds and our hearts. We know we have something in common, but we also need to feel it. Only then will the bond last. Once found, this type of relationship can last a lifetime.

A beautiful poem about the necessity of trust in a secure relationship. Without trust you have nothing and it takes time and life to build up that trust. Great job on this one. thanks for sharing.

This is lovely, Jesse. I especially connect with this line from the fist stanza -- "with a carefully chosen human being." We are all flawed, and humans will always make mistakes -- hurt one another. It IS important to choose carefully.

I know you need trust for a relationship to work, but I've never put pride into that same picture. Unless not letting pride get in the way is what you're intending here.

Opening stanza is strong and echoes the message provided throughout the poem. Good rhyming that pulls the structure together. I wonder about "chosen" and then using "choicest" to me it sounded awkward and redundant. But only my opinion. I enjoyed the poem.

Trust is definitely a requirement for a lasting relationship or friendship.
I understand your comment about pride but I think often, pride gets in our way.
