Well, look at you joining in a book of renga poems! A beautiful offering in this unique form. This looked like me as Jack unearthed my poor old body from the covers today. It's in the low 40s this morning. I'm still rather curled up and covered! Hahahaha! I'm sure 40 degrees is nothing to you.
Sending along my best today as always, Debbie dear.

I remember hearing about hedgehogs while I was visiting England. I believe they are native to the British Isles because I haven't heard of one in the United States. Maybe I am wrong, I am not sure. From the picture, the cute little creature looks snug in tight quarters where they live comfortably all winter. They do seem camouflaged since they hide out in hedges that line the countryside of most if not all of England. This might be the reason I have never seen one close-up and personal.

Dear Jesse, yes, you're right. They're actually endangered in the UK because they move so slowly across roads etc., but aren't native in the US where they exist in the wild, but often as a result of being released by pet owners. Thank you so much for your kind and informed review. I'll probably make a note of this. Take care Debbie

I'm sorry to hear they are endangered.
So many of the creatures who used to live freely in the wild are becoming endangered. In my country wolves are becoming endangered.
Have a good day, my friend.

Nature is amazing. The camouflage is a good one. He looks very snug and comfortable. This is a nicely written 5-7-5 poem or haiku. I like the picture you chose.

Thank you so much, Beth, for your kind review! It's good to see him safe because they're an endangered native species in the UK. Take care Debbie

This is a lovely haiku. The language is strong and the visual is perfect. The topical subject is sweet and calming. It makes me want to hibernate, too!

Thank you so much, June, for such a kind and generous review! He does look very calm and contented doesn't he? Good to see him safe because, here, in the UK, they're an endangered species and often get run over on the roads:( many thanks again. Debbie

Aw, this is so cute. I love the poem, but I find it hard to comment beyond that because my research on the renga form of poetry is so conflicting. However, the imagery is great, and the pic is sooooo appealing.

Thank you so much, Terry! I'm delighted you enjoyed. I too found the information a bit confusing, but what you need to do is: go into the chapters at the top of the post, find the most recent and then alternate your verse accordingly. If it was a 7/7 syllable 2 line verse, then yours will be 5/7/5 and the next 7/7 again. I think that's right and, so far, no one's told me otherwise. But I'll let you know if they do. Take care Debbie

Thank you so much, Pam, for your kind and thorough review! I didn't quite get the brief in the beginning but your lovely post spurred me on to want to know more. I hope I've got it right because the last one was 7/7. A great idea from Gypsy! Take care Debbie

Hi Cindy, thank you so much for this kind review! I'm not sure about the "ball of fur." I think, he's a bit more spiky than that:) And I would love to take the credit for the book but it's Gypsy's creation. Bless you. Debbie

This little guy reminds me of my Bella, who is currently curled up on a blanket next to me. They both look so peaceful in knowing that they are safe.
A nice Renga poem, Debbie. I think Karen's is the first one I've ever read.
Thanks for sharing this furry fellow with us.

Thank you so much, Pam, for this kind review! I think he's a bit more spiky than Bella but just as lovable. Take care xo
PS I think Gypsy's book is now up to chapter 17, alternating between 7/7 syllables and 5/7/5. I'm hoping that I've complied with the brief.
