This is so sad. It reminds me of a girl who lived across the street. Nobody new the truth until after he was dead. It was a crazy time for that family, filled with mixed emotions. I think you did a great job with this sensitive topic.

Comment from Esther Brown
It is hard to see abused children. Or people. You captured the mixed emotions of the child well. Thanks for sharing such a sensitive subject so thoughtfully. Esther

Whoa, that was dark.
I don't get why you used the pirate ships in the title and description. I must be missing something, but it seems like the least important part of your piece. It does hearken back to the innocence in their relationship... Hum, maybe that's it? A parallel between relationship and ship, pirates are villains...
Okay. You got me thinking. For that I'll give you six.

Hi ChibiElf. in the fourth stanza, it talks about, her more innocent days, she and her father would pretend cars were pirate ships.
Thank you for your wonderful comments and review and especially for the sixth star

The girl did nothing wrong. She will no longer be abused, so the Universe fixed everything. Excellent writing. As a teacher I had helped several young gutls, just by being observant and speaking out. This is thought provoking.
Best wishes,
Alex

Comment from Dr. Nad
Molest station is a horrendous experience for children to go through because it sets in motion an unending lifetime of guilt and shame in a high percentage of those who are subjected to this atrocity. The children are so depending on their caregiving adults that it is most often someone who is supposed to be their protector who is actually their molester. Thanks for writing and sharing the story.
