Your words are so true! Jesus is not the somewhat female appearing white skinned, bearded figure we always see. I believe the Bible purposely doesn't speak much about how He looked, to avoid that feeling of supremacy. By the way, if you are able to, I'd like your opinion on my story, "The Hert is A Desperate Gambler". I m not Black, and so far, the comments have been from non-Blacks and I would appreciate your opinion, or any changes you feel I should make. God Bless!

I would be more than happy to read it. I do not know why I have not yet seen it. I will do so and give you a balanced and fair opinion.

It was my 300th post and it is on the top of the "Stories and Chapters" right now, I just wondered because of the sensitive matter and I don't want to offend anyone.

AMEN!!!! God created all of us in His image. The color of our skin makes not a bit of difference and those who think it does, is missing the real meaning of what a Christian is. Thank you for sharing your God given wisdom with us in the poem.

Thank you, as I pointed out to another reviewer. A parent or sibling would not hate a family member whose hair color or eye color was different. neither should one human hate another human for being lighter or darker complexioned.

AMEN!!!! I knew a man who, was blue eyed and blond haired. His wife had black hair and brown eyes. There first son had blue eyes and blond hair, The wife's mother had that color combination, but her dad was part Native American and did not. Their second son had the mother's coloring. This man believed the second son wasn't his. For Real!!

    How foolish and insultingly hurtful.

I couldn't agree with you more on everything you've said. And for those who are black, white, green, or yellow, who judge anyone on merits other than character, integrity, kindness and empathy for others, they'd better check their salvation. Thanks for sharing, my brother in Christ. I wish I had a six!

As I have endeavored to stress, while I appreciate high review stars, I do not seek them, My goal is to write things that are relatable, touching and true to life. Thank you for your kind comments.

This is a very complex spiritual issue. Christianity is not a gateway to heaven. If one sees God as a limited and biased bystander he did not need to trap us into racism and supremacy God allowed humanity to be share in different colors, race, language, stature, etc. Christ is symbolic of universal salvation plan. God saves the Chinese, Buddhists, Jews. Muslims, Palestinians. Color is part of the divine plan. Relious institutions shackle God and Christ with their poor and mediocre understanding of a inclusive , benevolent love. Very expressive poem.

Thank you. The Bibles many examples of loving acts between people from different and diverse populations. The laws governing love for fellow humans all point to the requirement that we show love for all life without restrictions.

Well said, Nomi! There remains so much division and discrimination and your verse speaks passionately from the heart which makes it so compelling! Once again you've caught me with nothing more to give. But thank you so much for sharing this fine verse which says so much so succinctly. Debbie

Amen to that! We are all the same flesh and blood beneath our skins. And it is Jesus who set the perfect example for Christians when it comes to loving our fellow man. He died for us. Can we say that we would do that for someone of another color?

Probably not, but then again the brave soldiers who have died on the field of battle did not do so with the thought that this life I am giving up is only for this group or that group of citizens. No, it was for country and all reside within.

I try my best not to notice ones color. My dad always said to look into someone's eyes and you'll see into their heart. I've always tried to do that. I double check on attitude. This was a splendid reminder of how things should be. We are all brothers and sisters. No one is better or more valuable than someone else. Great poem. Gretchen

Thank you, as two brother born of the same set of parents might have differing eye color or hair color but still be brothers, does one belong above the other? No, they are brothers despite meaningless differences. So it should be in regards to complexion.

Good morning and thank you for sharing your poem. My family comes in all shades of skin and I can't imagine thinking of any of them in any other way except loving them. I always wonder how some can see the same child and think so differently.

Smiles, Carol

Wow, this is a powerful statement and I agree with its premise. You lay down the idea very well in this poem never swaying from the facts and that is what I love about your writing.
The last three lines are provocative and speak the truth as far as those who know it to be true. The humility of Jesus and his teachings gives us promise for our lives and the afterlife.
Thanks for telling it like it is!
Jesse

I agree with you. Mans features and the color of his skin had nothing at all to do with his character nor intelligence or anything else. I'm not sure why God saw fit to make us different. Maybe it was a test. At any rate we are not to consider one race superior to another.

Since the second greatest command is to love each other as brothers, what better way than to sweeten the pot by having us not look exactly like each other. You may prefer a rose to a dandelion, but you recognize both as flowers and do not hate the one while loving the other.
