I found your 'scatter shooting' very interesting and thought-provoking!! I guess it must be some kind of 'dirty dancing' if it leads to 'fornication' lol. I hope you manage to enjoy Christmas day with or without your chosen menu!!

Thank you for reading. Where I grew up any dancing was bad. Terry.

I really enjoyed this stream-of-consciousness. (and I especially like your phrase, "scatter shooting," ..but I didn't want to use it and be a copy cat or make you think I was teasing/mocking you by using it.)

I liked sharing all the ways you've enjoyed Christmases in your life and the way you're choosing to do so now. I always love vicarious glimpses like that.

Thanks for the festive post. I hope your holidays are merry and bright, T. xoxo

I enjoyed your scatter shooting. It is like a visit in which conversation goes where it will. It looks like you have far more decoration up than I do. I'm dreaming of a quiet Christmas, but in reality, I know that won't happen. I assume that was you singing that little Chtistmas song. I loved the little cat.

I'm giving you this six because I loved this. But in all honesty, you would have gotten it if it had been full of mistakes and run-on sentences. Jingle cat made me spit out my coffee. That I was not expecting. Happy holidays to you, Terry. BTW, I was raised Baptist. It was not for me. Lol. I became Episcopalian in my forties. Dancing and drinking are all just part of the celebration of life to them. Great writing. Gretchen

Gretchen, thank you for the six stars, and you know Jingle Cat was the star of the show! Terry.

You have a decent voice, Terry, but I liked the Cats version much better.

Your subtle humor brings me back to your work with every post, and I'm never disappointed. Great work!

Merry Christmas! Best, JohnC

John, thank you for reading. It's a good thing this is a writing site and not a singing site. Terry.

You didn't do too badly with either, my friend. I'm just partial to cats! Hahaha!

I loved decorating too, but when I am became on my own, the joy of it kinda got sucked out of it. Plus I live in a very small place and no room as they say."to swing a cat". I have one or two things that serve no purpose other than i like them. I am entitled. I miss having someone to share the weird things I see and hear with, but I have you guys. Have a good week.
Good writing, Karen

Great job! Too bad this isn't some kind of contest.
Waking up tomorrow is resolute enough. - Love that line!
Is that a self=portrait with the double barrel? (smiley face here)

Wayne, thank you for the six stars! I don't have a mustache or a shot gun. But otherwise I am pretty funny looking. Terry.

I enjoyed this post. My grandfather was a Baptist minister. And, my mother gave me money to buy her spirits. No lady deacon could be caught in a liquor store. I had some memories and giggles from this post and loved the song. Merry Christmas to you also. Sarah

"Enjoy a movie or two, listen to Christmas music, or read a Christmas book. I hear there is a new one about Santa." Yes, indeedy. Written by a very funny and clever man! :) Thanks for sharing this and getting us to reflect on our own past sins/confessions.

Good morning, Terry!
How I enjoyed your "Scatter Shooting!"
Humorous, creative, and filled with many moments that clearly resonated with me.
I am Catholic. Was engaged to a Baptist - a lifetime ago. "He" should have performed penance and gone to confession for numerous incidents that involved me, but thankfully, I dodged that bullet. (Oh! I wrote about "him" = Imagine that in a poem entitled "Uploaded Deliverance," but I digress)
I so enjoyed reading about Zoe's six trees: I lost count of ours a few Christmases ago, but they are all treasured.
What I truly enjoyed about this posting is the ease with which you "talk" to the reader and the subtle humor interspersed throughtout.
Much enjoyed, Terry!

Thank you for sharing!
And here's to a new year filled with a plethora of possibilities!
