A beautiful little portrait of your granddaughter, in all her five year old innocence. When you are little, the world is a possibility, and all that comes through in your little portrait here, complete with the details of the child like colloquialisms in her speech that are so endearing. estory

Check out this sentence..... "On one (of) our walks in the wooded area along the Mississippi River"
OMG. Your granddaughter is ssssooooo adorable and very smart. My grandson, Atticus, is very smart too. He is also 5 years-old.
My favorite part....
, "Grandma, I'll let you know when I figure it out. I'm only five." LoL very precocious. Atticus talks like a much older kid...so smart.
I hope you can move close to them. We'll done!

Thank you for the catch and I am off to make the correction. I appreciate the help.

Barbara, that is a great picture and goes well with the story. I also loved the conversation with her...Dang, Grandma, let her grow up a bit. LOL, Priceless. One minor thing, I think you mean patience instead of patients. As usual very well done. Terry.

Thank you for the catch. I will fix it. Of course, I knew better. I appreciate the help.

I liked reading this. It was very down to earth. How funny that Charolette told you she would figure it out, as she was only five.
Little fix at the end:
Be confidant in yourself to grow into who you were meant to be.
I think you mean 'confident' with an e, not an a.

Charolette looks like a very cute little girl as well as obviously being really smart too. You are a great Grandma and your four wishes are spot on. A very enjoyable read. Jen.

The darling picture alone is wort a Six Star! Combined with your wonderful wishes and kind words and it deserves a seven.

A fine lesson learned here Barbara as you take a great interest in your Granddaughter's education. America is a vast country and exploring all of it would take a lifetime I should think. I wonder how many schools concentrate on learning about other cultures in the world and other countries and their history? When I was at school we learned a lot of English history but because the English also visited the far reaches of the earth we also learned about many other countries and their cultures. I wondered how much time is spent on world history in American schools? Just thought I'd ask you, a fine post, endearing and warm, love Dolly x

When I was in school World History was taught a lot and in dept. When I taught first grade, I taught it as much as first graders could understand. Nowadays, I have no clue what's being taught. I fear very little history of any kind is being taught, but what I hear. It's scary what our schools have turned into. Thank you for the support.
