And look at you! Even your instructions for writing in the style are lights and fun and bouncy and positive! You are a natural-born rhymer, Debi.
Your Merry~go~Rhyme poems are creative and when I come upon one I know I'm going to read positive, upbeat things! BTW? Kenzie is one fine artist! I'd offer a six but (of course)---it's Thursday and I've spent them like a drunken sailor!

A rather interesting picture, Debi. Debi you and Sally have gone round and round with either the 'Circus' and the 'Merry-go-Rhyme'. It is a shame that you two were at logger head. They are both rather well done. Blessings n Hugs!

What a fun way to describe a poetry form and how it came to be created. I'm sure that Sally is happy that you have adopted the style and want to help others join in. We could have a circus!
This was fun and informative. Thank you for sharing.

I often write poems like this and had no idea it was a Merry-Go-Rhyme! All my poems have to rhyme too, it's just not a poem without the rhyme. Well done, I see no errors and learned something.

Hi Roxanna, thank you for your lovely review and comments.
My poems always rhyme too, but they are not all Merry~go~Rhymes.
What makes these different are a few rules that go with them:
    1) Every line must rhyme
    2) Normal four line stanzas
    3) One or two lines between
each stanza for the up and down effect
    4) They must be fun w bouncy feel to them

So you see that they are different and have to have either one or two lines between each stanza. A couple poems ago I wrote with just one line between them, which was the same word every time. And normally if you do one of those, there has to be a rhyme with internal and external.
If you are a Rhymer like me, than please try one. They are fun and a great way to make others smile.
    Thanks again my friend. Debi

Your poems ala merry-go-round are always so bright and cheerful. You have quite the knack for putting a nice story together, easy to read but filled with meaning and catchy phrases.

Always a pleasure to read your posts...

Question- you're granddaughter drew the artwork?

Cheers to a lovely day...
John

Yes, Kenz does much of my art for me. This particular piece I sent her a picture of what I wanted, but she usually draws from memory or real life. As you can tell, I am very proud of her.
And thank you John for the awesome and kind review and words.

That is a tremendous talent. How old is she? My granddaughter in Florida has gotten into art, somewhat.

Thanks so much John. Her eye for detail is amazing and if you look thru some of my portfolio you will see a lot of her work. I bet your granddaughter would be tickled if you used some of hers, mine is going to be twenty next month. She took college art even before college so she has a lot of knowledge about it too.

Dang, woman. Even giving instructions you made it entertaining. I don't follow instructions so, of course, free style verse is my all time favorite. But I am in awe of those who have trained in the art of the proper poem. Hats off to you, Debi. Gretchen

I envy people who can rhyme like you. Personally, I write free verse and I like reading it too.
I love how cheerful your posts are, BTW.
Anyway, I'm no poet. I've always been better at writing prose.
Thanks for sharing. x

Yes, Sally's poems are great, but don't cut yourself short. Your poems are equally as great. God has blessed us on this site with great poems. Me, as a prose writer, gets to enjoy reading all the wonderful poems.

Debi, this is a very clever poem. It is also very fun to read as it offers up a little insight into how your mind works when writing poetry. I thought it was almost a six on its own merit, but the art work pushed it over the top! Excellent. Terry.

Terry, I apologize for this being so late. My eye specialist keeps trying to restrict my time on my ipad until next months surgeries. But still doing at least 12 hours a day and so that would make me only about 8 hours more than what I am allowed. I do read them all as they come in and although I am late, I do keep plucking away at them. But I wanted to make sure you knew how much your awesome review means to me. Thank you so much for your very kind words for my poem and your gracious gift of six stars. They are so appreciated, my dear friend!
