One day, if we merit, we will be with our loved ones again. That is something that keeps a decent, God-fearing person on the straight and narrow path. I enjoyed reading your poem and believe the sentiment deserves a six.

You did a great job, Judith, with your tribute to your mom.
Your words were well-thought out and painted a picture
of true love and devotion til they meet again--and they will.
Your lines were smooth as were the rhymes. I enjoyed reading
this though it was poignant.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

As a widow of almost 28 years, this one really spoke to me and to my heart. You have written it will edit, expresses a lot of white people like me, and the widow of your poem feel each and every day as they struggle to stay in touch with themselves. Patricia.

Im.so glad this spoke to you. I wrote it based on my mom. She has passed away, but the poem expresses her well I think.

Hi Judith, Your poem is beautifully penned from the heart, and I see that this poem was written for your mom, a widow. Your poem reads and flows well, and your message is clear. Of special note:

Though she led a widow's life
Always she remained his wife

(Very heartfelt. Everything your mom thought, said, or did was in respect and honor of her husband, your father.)

J, I am sorry for your loss. By any chance, is this a photo of your dad's grave? Just curious. Well written. Good rhyming. A poem from the heart, a poem of love and respect. Well done.
Six stars in honor of your parents. Xo. Margaret

J, I'm sorry that your mom has also passed. The loss of a mother is like no other, with the exception of losing a child. I still miss my mom. She died in 1991. My dad died in 1977. There are days that I feel like an orphan--can't explain it. Have a great night. Margaret

I am a widow, my husband died last April and I can relate to your words. I can see myself in your poem, it is a journey similar to mine. Excellent poetic form that captures the road of the widow. You have a smooth rhyming of words that brings forth feelings and emotions.

Hi Judith,
This poem shows true lasting love. It also shows fidelity and faith.
My mom also never remarried after my dad died. Never even tried to
date. They were high school sweethearts.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Joan

You have written an excellent poem for your mom. As I read the poem, I could see your mom walking to the gravesite with flowers in hand and love in her heart. In the same way, I could feel your love for her coming through the writing. Exceptional. Terry.

She passed away but of course I remember how much love and respect she had as my father's wife and then his widow. Very beautiful.

I am so sorry. I didn't realize she had passed. You must be a lot like her to write such sweet words from your heart. My mother passed in 1999. She was a true sweetheart with a great big heart too! I love you sweet friend!

Oh Im.sorry your mom is also gone Teri. I call my sister " Mama" all the time now. My older sister. She said that sometimes she still goes to dial my mom on the phone! Then she remembers she is gone...
reply by Teri7 on 23-Jan-2023
I used to do that also. Her and my grandmother are both gone. I was my grandmothers girl! She was like an angel on earth.

That is nice to love your grandmother. Mine were also so good to us kids growing up. Families meant alot back then. Today people do not care as much.
