Good morning, Mike. This is an excellent piece with beautiful artwork to match. I find your style evocative and entertaining to read.
The whole presentation works well and leaves a satisfying taste in my mouth.
My favorite part of this is the ending where you say and all because I dared to sigh I set the dancers free. This is a wonderful metaphor for waiting for the muse to strike.
I find your bio interesting as well.
Thanks for sharing what you are thinking when you wait for the muse to hit.

This excellent, expressive piece--through the inclusion of vividly descriptive metaphors--conveys a message about blocked thoughts bursting free. I especially like line 7.

What an easy read. The words danced within my head and right off the page. You have been able to create that often sought for but not always found, rhythm.
Very nice presentation, thanks

For me, poetry is all about rhythm and flow, and sometimes it's more about a feeling than technical devices. Thanks for the great review :-)

Very nice. At first, I was asking where is this going but in the end I felt myself twirling in and on an Austrian courtyard, musicians stringing concertly beside the two of us gliding like a cloud on a breeze.

'The Dance of Inspiration', is an exceptionally well-written and heart-wrenching piece. To me this is a six, but sadly I've run out of them. Writer's block is truly a curse. I look forward to seeing your next post.

Thank you so much :-). This was on of those ones that just felt right while I was composing it - it almost wrote itself.

Fleedleflump,
Clever, humorous, down to earth or maybe twirling in the breeze. I can see it all - those trial bits of paper dusting off their frustration as they swirl in the air, perhaps wondering why they weren't the chosen ones. They have another purpose, as they dance inside your heart and mind to birth a new beginning.
Yes, we often have to give up, to get ahead, but mostly we don't like to do that. It puts me in mind of a Joseph Campbell quote:-
'We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.'
I did enjoy the read.

Thanks so much, Ww :-). Indeed, planning things out can be a set-up for disappointment - that's why I only do detail plots for novels once I'm well underway. Otherwise, I'm end up with characters acting uncharacteristically just for plot reasons!
I'm thrilled you enjoyed my poem.

How wonderful that the spark was ignited in your heart and that this was fanned into passion and creativity. This melted the writer's block, frozen and stiff like ice. Sometimes we have to set out in faith, and the rest follows. Lovely. Imaginative and creative.

Thank you, Wendy :-). Indeed, I often find my best lines only cone once I'm already writing.

Love this! It feels like the poem flowed through you... On rare occasions when a poem seems to write itself it feels exactly like this! What clever writing!

Those are my most treasured experiences as a poet ~ and all too rare! This was extraordinary.

Wow! I hope some people still had some sixes to award you. This is just lovely and it reads effortlessly to describe how the spark of inspiration can melt the "ice malaise of writer's block." Sometimes, all it takes is to just start writing.

Thank you :-). I find most of my best ideas (especially for stories and novels) come while I'm already writing, so I have to remind myself to just get started and see what happens.
