I am giving you and exceptional rating on this poem because it has so many pluses--it tells a great story, evokes pathos and passion, and has an excellent rhythm and rhyme. So many memorial poems become maudlin, but you have kept it uplifting and meaningful. Well done-a very enjoyable read!

It isn't often that what I read stays with me much longer than it takes for me to read something else, and that's almost constantly. But, this devotional has bored its imprint in my brain and will be with me for a long time. Thanks for sharing.

Very beautiful and moving poem. ( I can almost feel the tears forming below the surface, though since I don't like to cry, I am trying not to let them escape.) So much love in your poem. It shows what it is like to be truly grateful for family. Well done.

Not much to say, my friend. You pushed all the truthful, tragic buttons of warfare boiled down to the true personalization. You managed a somewhat happy ending, which is the most any Service family dares expect. Well done, my friend.
