Nice Poem! Your description of lights (one fading and other ramping), gives poetry a lot of points to link! I have read a writer long time ago that has the expression "Meet you at the two lights" referring to the starting light of the moon and fading light of the sun, similar to the reference in your poem...
Picture shows both lights coexisting in peace...

Thank you for this lovely portrayal of sunrise. As a child, I loved watching the sunrise but these days, I'm always up too late!
I really liked how you showed natural light take over as manmade light was extinguished. Great response to the free verse challenge!

This is a lovely free verse posting. I have always been affected by both the day and night skies. They can be breathtakingly beautiful and also horribly dangerous-looking. I especially like studying all the different kinds of clouds. Thank you for sharing this!

When the Lord said "let there be light" He knew that there was a difference, although He lived in the void, He needed no light, He is is light, so whether He's in darkness or Light, He is still the light. A beautifully written perspective on this great subject, articulate and intuitive, well done, blessings Roy

Dear JLR, looking at the illustration that you have posted with your entry for our free versers topic. I would be carried away with describing what Light can do to the clouds in the sky from moment to moment.

I enjoyed very much your take about what happens with Light durning the progression of a pre-dawn day!

Wow - you've proved your point. I guess it's not something we always think about. Sunrises, sunsets and moonglow, yes, but there are many more. Well done.

JLR,
Reading your poem this afternoon reminded me of a game I used to play with the one lone streetlamp on my back country road in my hometown in Maine.
In the rural area where I was, there were not many streetlamps- our neighbors would keep their porch lights on long into the evenings darkness to help the townies who had to work late....make it home by their glow.
As afternoon turned to evening- I would be ending whatever sport practice I was in at that time...and I would race home on my bike to the hill right at the top of my road. I would race like the wind to get to the street lamp before it turned on..... If I made it...well then I was going to have a great game the next day....if not....well then....I would have to play twice as hard to break the streetlamp jinx. You know what? Most times I made it before that lamp turned on......
Thank you for sharing your evening glow with us...
I enjoyed your piece and I enjoyed the memory it helped me ecall.

Sammiewlf, dear friend, you have the beginnings of a great short story! I am very pleased that my free verse poem sparked that memory, because it obviously was a period of your life filled with purpose. Thank you for the snapshot into your past.
