This is a very powerful poem that speaks such an important truth. When all the protests settle down and it's time for our communities and our politicians to get to work, we'll see just how much has changed. Hugs, Lou

Exceptional job in the penning of this beautiful poem that brought tears to my eyes. We should always be truthful in all that we say and do. Your message is powerful and touched my heart. Thanks for sharing and may God's blessings continue to shine upon you.

Blessings...Portia

A very well-written swap quatrain about the power of our words can hurt the soul but when our words are not put into actions to show it is true and we can bring change for the better of all.

This is an eloquent poem and its message is clear. The one thing I'm not sure of is who you are addressing. Is it a Politician or a Teacher or is it America? :)Ralf

Dear M K T, your authors notes spend time explaining the swap quatrain, but the content of this poem is a scathing indictment of a recognized professional person, whom you graciously hope has repented.
I truly wish I could join you in that hope, but for too long I have studied the ways of professional hypocrites.
I wish to complement you for both this well-crafted poem and your manner of voicing a true concern.

Great job with your swap quatrain. You bring an interesting reflection - don't know if it's an acquaintance who was a teacher or a politician that has done an about face about racist views. But we can hope, that there was personal change. I like the peaceful protest in your picture and the sweet picture of the kids at the bottom.

Hatred and lies and bigotry seem to suddenly fade (hypocritally) when a certain someone is seeking re-election. Yes, a changed attitude is possible with genuine insight, but I don't believe it is possible in some because they will never be able to see the real truth and take it into their own lives.
Your poem is powerful and thought-provoking, a fitting accompaniment to the present surge of emotion to redress systemic bias in society.
I love that pic of the 3 children.

Kudos to you for your honest appraisal of what many are doing now - trying to erase the past. But hopefully, the efforts are sincere - decisve action rather than just reaction in the heat of the moment. Racism is alive and well - there is not white-washing it. Is this really the kind of world we want for our children and grandchildren?

This poetry form is something I stand in admiration of. You carried it out well, along with a subject matter that isn't easily conveyed in a poetic voice - but you carried it off! Well penned.

This is one of the best poems on this subject that I have ever read. Not only is the rhyming pattern clever, the poem actually says something important. It is nice to read a poem that sounds nice and is appealing to the eye, but to me, if the poem does not elicit a feeling that is evocative and in harmony with what the writer is trying to say, it is a failure. I wish that the entire world could read your powerful words. They are truly thought provoking and wise.
