I loved it. You built up some great rhythms and echoing effects in this free verse piece, the voice comes off as tense, swaying in the midst of all the uncertainty of these times. You had great images in it of these hazy, swirling clouds obstructing our vision of the future, the swaying earth, undermining our footing, creating all this uncertainty. Good job with the images and the underlying rhythms of the language to create those effects. then at the end, you had this vision of God slowly taking an abstract shape out of the clouds, whispering these words of 'believe' to you. I think that whispering is important. It seems tenuous, like faith often seems to us, but it is that baby step of faith that enables us to take the leap into the arms of our comforting God. estory

estory, I am very honored to receive your six-star review and very thorough comments, we have so little room for despair and without faith hope seems to be a conditional thing out of reach for so many people. Thank you so much!

If a person believes in God he is never alone when he feels hopeless. Jesus is with a person 24/7. Hopeless people need to read the Bible and find comfort. The Bible is God's Words to them individually.

Rebecca, in my work as a Spiritual Director, I find I am called often to be a quite set of ears to listen to the struggles if people who are searching for the Divine in their lives. Always, with an open chair for the Holiest of Holies, always present.

Thank you so much for the dedication, and for sharing the results of your studies in class not only with us but with the FS community in general. I have watched this surface from beneath its aquatic beginnings through its earth-shaking imagery to the beautiful piece we see here.
I know I haven't said anything about its construction in detail, but all that has been done already, live in class, so you do not need it said again.
I have looked at the other reviews you have had so far and you should be thrilled by them. There would certainly have been more sixes had you been able to post earlier in the week and I am pleased I had one still to ward here.

I love the change you made from "very" to "bleary." I think it's a more powerful word choice that strengthens your imagery.

This is beautiful as a graphic image as well as for its literary content. I was especially struck by the fading away whisper of the words 'I believe.' This piece reminded me of a favorite old prayer: "I believe, Lord. Help Thou my unbelief." Well done.
