I like your poem, the presentation is beautiful and I love what you did with the font. I know that takes a long time. The syllables count is correct.

Thanx, Gypsy -- glad you enjoyed this one! :) We do all need a place of shelter from the comments and the harshness that life can be sometimes and even if that's just silence and another's breathing, that's good, too. :) :) May sunshine and solace find you this week! ;) Yvette

Wow, Laural - thank you!! Your comments and those lovely stars are certainly a bright spot to all the gray that seems to hover around here these days...sigh. :) ;) Seriously, though, I am truly glad you enjoyed this one... we do all need a place of shelter from the comments and the harshness that life can be sometimes and even if that's just silence and another's breathing, that's good, too. :) :) Thanx again, my lady -- and may sunshine and solace find you this week... you need a WHOLE lot after that 'vacation'! ;) Yvette

Beautiful, Yvette. I love the feel of this write. Reminds me of the Pointer Sisters singing "Slow Hand". Your phrases are exquisite. Both the words and the soft, soothing alliteration.
And that title, just sufficiently over the top to grab the reader's attention. The committee's too, one hopes.
Good luck.
Blessings Julia

Beautiful! How did you accomplish the letters fading into different shades like that? So cool! And it matches the picture perfectly! Incredible!
Thank you for sharing such a lovely poem! xoxo

Just use the Advanced Editor and the 'More Colors' option when you're altering your text colors... :) :) Thanx, my lady!! ;) Yvette

So you go letter by letter changing it to fade into the next color? That?s a lot of freakin? work! Wow!

Some poems seem opaque, at least for my feeble brain to understand. This poem sort of fits that, yet there's something about it, even though I don't quite understand its meaning, that feels deeply spiritual and calming. Maybe its the lovely image of "silken whispers," or concept of "jaded soul." It makes me want to read more of your work, which I shall do right away!

Thank you. According to the ratings, a four-star rating means that "adjustments are needed", however, you list no corrections that need to be made here. So that I may improve my technique, could you please tell me what changes/corrections need to be made that would bring it up to the five-star that does not need corrections? Thank you so very much!

For me (and this is very subjective and personal) poems that work well convey very specific thoughts or feelings. Your poem, as lovely as it sounds, would be more relatable if you specified what was being whispered (show me how it is silken, don't tell me it is?) and by whom (I want to know that person!), why you need solace and why you believe your soul is jaded (I want to know this person, too!). I hope this helps.

It's a 21 syllable contest.... how exactly are you to give that much detail...? Thank you for your explanation as impossible as it would be to implement.
-
I didn't realize that was the prompt criteria. I still think you have a nice way with words. I will check out more of your work!

Yes....a softly whispered affirmation that what you've written is indeed what the soul needs. So beautifully presented! If I saw this framed in a gallery I would want to purchase it for my bedroom wall!--Karenina

Really like this poem and the message contained therein. Sometimes it is indeed the softness of a whisper that provides the most solace. Could easily see this win the contest.

Sometimes we just have to stop talking, withdraw from all others, and give those "silken whispers" of solace an opportunity to soothe us. The choice of artwork is fitting for this lovely poem.
