I tell you, Bill had more things bite him. It is amazing he's alive. Plus getting wounded in the war. This is well done. I saw a few small things, paragraphs that didn't have spacing, but over all it's very well done. Looking forward to the next chapter. Rox

This is beautiful and vivid! Each character has a distinct voice. I love the addition of the story Billy wrote and wonder if it has some foreshadowing to it. I love the inclusion of faith as well. I hope he's ok.

Well, I thought I was going to make it through one chapter without tearing up, but I was wrong. Reading what his mom said, feeling their relief that he's going to be alright got to me, darn you. Hehehehe. I do hope she'll be alright. The story is well-written, interesting, look forward to reading more.

I have a very tender soul, feel things deeply. Have all my life. Complete opposite of what I write. I've tried writing romance, but end up boring myself to tears. I do add a little romance in my mysteries

This is an excellent chapter, Cathy & Bill. I enjoyed reading it. I was engaged from start to finish. Your descriptive words, dialogue, attention to detail, and progression of events all work together to create a memorable read.
I felt like I was riding in the truck with you on the way to the hospital. The details about the gas price and the name of the gas station keep readers aware of the novel's time period of the mid 60's. The inclusion of Aqua Net was great--a blast from the past.
Your give readers more about Grandpa's character by the way he handled your being sick and his 'cure' afterwards. I like the way he acknowledges that he may be 'tough at times,' However, his actions show his kind and loving ways and his heart of gold. He is a down-to-earth country boy with a true heart that is reflected in Bill.
Readers gain more insight into Cathy's character, too. They can feel her embarrassment, her genuine love for Grandpa, and her deep love for Bill. The idea that Grandpa had to bring Bill's stories was great, and it was used as a great lead-in to showcasing "The Rabid Dog" story as they travelled along. That story, too, shows more of Bill's character and the interaction and love of family. The scene in the hospital room was written with great detail and emotion. Readers can feel the intensity of the situation.
I like the conversation between Cathy and Grandpa as presented between facts of the trip. It keeps the true feeling of the story rather than just a recap of going to the hospital. We have real people acting in a believable way.
The video is a great choice to showcase the theme of the novel--love between a couple in a turbulent time in our history.
