What a sweet little write Yvonne I loved it. Thanks for sharing.
Just thought I'd let you know I am leaving Fanstory indefinitely. I physically can't keep up with reviewing anymore. I am tired. After four and a half years of posting 2 poems a night that equates to some 3700 poems, I am losing my mojo and impetus Maybe absence will make the heart grow fonder.
I will still post occasionally but I will not be reviewing anymore so leaving is probably not a good word. I think people are tiring of my rhyming poetry of mainly love and romance and I don't blame them, there are enough of them that's for sure! lol
Thanks for being a great fanstory friend

Oh, I am sorry to hear that. Maybe a break is all you need. I'll miss you, so hurry back.
As for keeping up with reviewing, it is hard. Unfortunately, I never have so many reviews to keep up with. lol
Thank you for being my friend here, and I hope to see you back SOON.
Comment from Gloria ....
What a perfect metaphor to illustrate the rewards that come from persistence, even though sometimes going with the flow is just the thing.
This is just so good Yvonne and I always love a happy ending. Spring is coming. :))

Hi Yvonne, this is a fun poem! I enjoyed reading it. You made the little leaf come to life. Very nice aabb rhyme, rhythm, and flow. The artwork is a perfect compliment.

Hello damommy, The Little Leaf reminds me of "The Little Train That Could" ... both of them never gave up. I enjoyed reading your poem. Your verses were silky smooth as was the rhyming.
Good alliteration throughout, especially:
While twisting this way, turning that, there came a great big gust.
Lovely complementary artwork choice. A pleasure to read. Keep the blue waters flowing. Six stars for you. LateBloomer

Such a sweet story from a common sight in winter! I like the anthropomorphic qualities you gave the leaves. Actually, at first, I was expecting the opposite - that the leaf would be encouraged to keep hanging on until spring. There was a story about a sick child who thought she die when the last leaf fell from the tree in the yard. Her sister tied a fake leaf to the tree and so gave hope to live through that winter.

This is a darling story of the little leaf that could. :) It always amazes me to see a leaf or two on a tree, seemingly holding on for dear life. Now I know what's really going on! lol Nicely done.

This is really cute, Damommy :) I wish I had a six for you, but I'm all out. You have lovely rhythmic lines from beginning to end in lovely meter. I enjoyed your aabb rhyme scheme and was impressed that they were well placed rhymes. Nothing felt forced at all. This is absolutely adorable.

A simple poem? Just for fun? A BRILLIANT POEM, IF YOU ASK ME. The concept is charming, and highly creative, the meter perfect, as is the rhyme - THIS, my dear, is poetry at its finest, in my opinion! I loved it, Yvonne! You take my last six this week.
