The kettle set to steep.
We had a notion for romance --
Instead....we fell asleep.'

This uplifting poem, Late Winter Snow, pretty much captures the day many could have had as the snow finds us again before leaving the area for another year. What last minute fun could be had in this last blanket of the projectile-making, white, frozen stuff. And teh metaphor for our middle and past ages plays into the tendency to sleep rather than romance. Nice.

This is a lovely and happy poem telling of the return of winter...it is entertaining and uplifting, even as it may be a dreaded thing. I like how smoothly it flows and your rhyme scheme...nicely done

Wow, a vibrant poem with such good enthusiasm. Every one of us wanted to spend time with nature but we rarely do it. At least poems like these to take us into the snow.
A wonderful imagery with such good phrases.
Have a nice day

What a great way to spend a day--in an unexpected snowfall. This took me back to a memory of when I was 14. I would babysit for a family of 4 small boys, ages 3 - 10. We had a late snowfall that gave us a day off from school. I was ready to relax when three of the boys appeared on our porch--their mother needed me to babysit so she could go to work.
At first, I was disappointed to lose my free day. Much like this poem, the day turned in to an adventure in the snow with the four boys and one of my best babysitting memories.

That last line doesn't say much for the charms of your companion. Lol. Never mind the intention was to be uplifting rather than erotic and it certainly made me chuckle over that missed opportunity.

Sure, the first light snowfall may be a chance to dance giddily, leaving footprints through the neighborhood. But for the last drubbings of snow, you have to really work at enjoying it. I agree - it's time for Spring. Thanks for your wonderful poem.
