Hi, Roy. Lovely poem ahead of Easter Sunday. Reminders to take to heart, my friend. Well said. Great work.

Your poem is nice about Jesus' love for mankind. My Good Friday service had some of this in the message today
Your poem rhymes well.
Congratulations on your wins.

Roy, your proper English and steady rhymes always produce a soothing effect, like sitting in the old country church and listening to the familiar service...excellent.

He gave Himself to face that cross
yet for our price was set;
the sinless Son of God was killed
my ransom's price was met.
This is a lovely entry for the Easter Contest Roy. I love that stanza. Have a wonderful Easter Sunday! Nancy

Roy: I like your poem with the stunning photo of the cross. Jesus told us to share, be kind, walk the second mile and give your time. He counted his mission joy to save mankind. Well written for the contest and witnessing, my friend. God bless!
Light shines in darkness and Isis is getting broken up. flylikeaneagle

This is a very well written poem, Roy!
A great entry for the Easter Poetry contest, your poem gives the true meaning of Easter ... at least I think so! I loved the message in your poem ... that man should try to be more self-less and think more of his fellow man. My fave line: "was part of Jesus' ken". Ken is a word that is rarely used. That word ... ken (knowing) ... to me it wraps up the whole premise of your write. Jesus tried to pass on his knowledge (ken) of goodness to others.
Excellent!

I like the rhyming meter with this one and the way the words flow off my tongue when I read it aloud. I loved the way it cheered me up as well. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

Excellent. There is a good rhythm to this poem. A highlight for me was your mention of "Jesus' ken" (an old-fashioned word, rarely used). Well done

I'm not religious; in fact, in some areas of life I think religion has been incredibly damaging to society at large (not all though, I recognize all the good religious people have and will do).
But that doesn't mean I can't appreciate a well written poem no matter the subject matter. And that's why I gave this a 5. Because it deserves it.
