What? After Barb was so sweet during her party, she says THAT? I wonder why? Maybe she doesn't want you to see her in the hospital looking awful toward the end? But the service? Odd.

For the content of this chapter, Shari, I'm giving it a six. So many times I've wanted to, but didn't have any. I'm not going to be a scrooge because of a nit or two. You might want to check your spacing in this as well.
Our reunion had been successful, or so I thought. But before we said our good-byes, Barb gave an order that stunned me. She made it clear. "I don't want either you or Bobby to visit me or attend my memorial service."

maybe I'd see a picture of one in an expected place. [Did you mean Unexpected place?]

That was a heart warming, touching story. There is an obvious sadness to this story that outweighs the hope of an afterlife surprise. It sucks the reader in and pulls me under, envelops me with the helpless situation that you have written into your own character.
I definitely need to follow along with this one. You have me intrigued with this tale.

Well, it seems like everything went marvellously well--it could not have gone any better. Her request was an odd one. Funerals and memorials are for the ones left behind, it helps them cope. Barb shouldn't really get a say in it!
