Some times what is perceived by somebody as recklessness is indeed courage. In some situations you simply have to take the risk. Well written story, as all of yours are, that contains plenty of high action and interest. Entertaining read.

I had it figured out Doctrex would be around there for a long time. I can't see him getting out. Maybe you have a plan that you haven't shared with me. LOL I enjoyed reading this post.

THanks, Barbara. I also hope Doctrex will be hanging tough. I'm glad you will be too and staying aboard.

Both Doctrex and Gilnot are strong characters - their conversation bouncing back and forward. Doctrex is shocked that Gilnot has had Zarbs executed.
You've still not revealed how Gilnot ended up in a wheelchair.
Gilnot has indicated Doctrex won't be there long - I hope he's not planning to have him executed too.
a few thousand loyalist soldiers were in readiness.(") - inverted commas
A great chapter, Jay.

Could have sworn I answered this. I know I took care of the quote mark. Thank you so much, Margaret.

Very good. Without saying so, the reader can assume that the good master both insane and paranoid of losing power. That explains why his men live in constant fear. Perfect

Good observation, Lance. I'm glad I was able to bring that off. It wasn't an easy chapter to write. It makes me feel special to get a 6 star from you for it.

WOW...a game of wits between two strong characters! I have to wonder if all is as it seems. You are such an amazing writer, Jay. I love how you strive to get your readers vested in the characters. Have me hooked :)

I'm so gratified to have you hooked to this book. And to get a 6 star on top of everything else. I'm staggered. Or was that the wine? Hey, thanks, my dear friend.
-
Not just the wine, but I'll have another if you please :)

This is the best chapter, by far, of those I've read, Jay. It was well-crafted, exciting, greatly illustrated with your pen so that the reader can see every movement the character's made, and very believable -- the characters COME TO LIFE HERE!
FABULOUS JOB -- kudos!!!

You can't roll up your pant legs high enough. I got an abundance here. Just keep your mouth and eyes closed.

Doctrex is learning a different side of his enemy. This is very well written with a smooth flor of words, making for a good read. There is very good imagery.

You wanna see different, hang in there for about 5 more installments. You'll see different! Thanks, Charlie for your kind words.

Will do, Jay. Charlie

A very effective portrait of the antagonist, and I assume the cause of his physical problems is significant enough to save for later revealing. The saying about sandpapering a lion's anus in a phone booth(hey, what's a phone booth?) comes to mind. Excellent chapter.

I love your crits, Red. Thanks for reading. Yep, you're too much, in or outside a phone booth--you old Lion's butt, you!

Hi, Jay, I'm back on the site and although I haven't kept up-to-date with all of your story, I found the chapter very interesting, especially the detail of the hand gestures! Politicians beware!! The author notes have helped me understand the plot and I hope to keep up with the story. Best wishes, Pete :)

THanks, Jax. One of those weird situations when I know I've answered this, but it comes back for perhaps a better response? Thanks, Jax. Glad you enjoyed this. I have the end in my sights, but it just keeps on extending itself in the middle.
-
- You can only end it IF you bring Doctrex back to fight another day. (*<*)
- That's my work and I'm sticking to it!
- I meant to let you know, but got sidetracked. You gave me a pump. Thank you, very kind man. (*>*)
