It's amazing that we all have so many skeletons in our family's closet. Literally, at times. Ha. Your writing is always flawless, so I can only comment on the continuing saga. It kept me reading until the end and wondering what's next, so it's working well, I would say.

It sounds like you had your own Aunt Mame in the family. You give a great description of Dee. What bad advice she gave her son about marrying the girl he got pregnant and then getting an annulment and go on as if nothing happened. Your mother was very tolerant to put up with her when she was low on money. What news to be hit with--that Bobby's second wife had called with news of his burial, and Dee says that she murdered him. Have to hear about what came of that accusation. judi

You'll hear a lot of fishy things in the next chapter. My aunt may have been right!

Oh, my! That's quite a build-up! Was anything ever proved? judi

As your beautifully written recollections of your past life prove, it's often the choice of mates that causes the breakdown in family ties. It sounds as though your aunt had an exciting life, and she was obviously a 'looker' to have found a new mate so easily in later life. It must also have been gratifying to be supported by her son and enjoying some financial stability.

It's understandable that it was assumed his alcoholic wife could be responsible for Bobby's early demise. That's exactly the kind of thing loved ones say when they feel there is an enemy in their midst. I look forward to finding out if Dee was right.

Dee was a looker and so was my mom. But with age came weight and wrinkles. My sister and I thought Dee was cool. She was a great story teller and could entertain listeners for hours. But watch out if you got on her wrong side--yep, eventually, I became a target for her anger. sigh...

Blimey, Shari - at 'fourteen', I thought my willy was just for peeing out of, though I did wonder why it had started getting a life of its own. :-)

Dee sounds a real all-round charmer.

LOL at her household cleanliness and obsessions - reminds me of me...not!

Nice of Dee to relent for Bill's sake - without any thoughts of personal gain. LOL

I found this clearer and more fun than the last chapter, though I still had to keep scrolling back and forth ro remember who's who - MY fault entirely.

Excellent writing.

Best wishes, Ray xx

Ray, you picked up every nuance in this. I thank you for that as well as the humor.

No probs, Shari, though I can't promise to review every chapter, as I'm often just not in the mood for 'facing' prose, however well it's written, and this is very well.

LOL I understand. That's how I feel about poetry, especially sonnets.

I've written literally hundreds of sonnets, and they used to be my fave form, but I've become a little bored with them nowadays. xx

My first attempt took eight hours! So I admire those who write them even if I don't read them.

Thanks, rebekka. I'm glad my relatives don't live near me. We have nothing in common, for sure.

Hi Spitfire, I honestly wish I had caught up with your story earlier my friend, I like the style you are using in your biographical story, you certainly know how to use the surprises in life to advantage in your writing!

Thanks, Eric, for dropping by. There's still plenty of drama before the end. Hope you'll continue to follow.

Hello Spitfire, Your story is living proof that all families are alike. As far as Bill not changing his will, that was no accident. Basically, men do exactly what they want to do. Bobby's death was horrific--no parent should outlive their child. It's just not the natural progression of life. I couldn't help but to wonder if Bobby was murdered. Many times a memorial service is for someone who have been cremated???? ... no body, no evidence. Ahhh, that's the NYC cynic in me speaking. A well told story of life. The drama of family is just wonderful. We all need a good dose of aggravation on a regular basis. It keeps our hearts racing and quickens our steps to the grave. LOL. Very good and well told. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

A fantastic review, and you're guessing the right game--cremation, no body, no evidence. Love your positive approach to aggravation. Personally, it makes me break out in hives.

This is an interesting chapter, my friend. It is interesting because of the way it was written. You are very good at this. It held my attention very well. It is a shame that Bobby died. I am looking forward to the next chapter. This is excellent, as always.

I may have to catch up on the story because I might fall behind a bit. I'll be disappearing for a while. I got yelled at by the Doc today about staying off my foot and keeping it elevated. He threatened to stop seeing me unless I started following his orders. So I guess I'd better follow his orders for a while. I'll be by from time to time but not as much as normally. Everything is fine. Don't worry about me. I'm to ornery to be put down. Best wishes.

Always with respect,

Thanks, Eigle. Your doctor is right. That foot won't heal if you don't follow orders. Appreciate your time to read and write about this.
