For heroes have a role to fill.
Words that are now, and forever, true!
What a delightful romp through the alphabet with you and your heroes! (I'll sleep better tonight, knowing I am well protected!)

Thank you, PF. I appreciate the kind remarks. I'm glad to know you can sleep well knowing the superheroes will protect you. You're right, we really do need our heroes.

This is an excellent "Abecedarian" poem, one of the best that I've read. There is a big difference in an "ABC"
and "Abecedarian" poem. There is an explanation of each type of poetry used here at Fanstory, under "Home" at the upper left of your screen, click on "Poetry Dances". This could have confused some of the voters. Bill

Thank you, Bill. I love learning new things and I appreciate you taking the time to give me some instruction. Until now, I looked for ABC books for my nieces and nephews and it never occurred to me that ABC would be less than the entire alphabet. I appreciate you pointing out where I can learn more about the types of poetry as well. I'm still exploring the site so every little bit helps.
Thank you for the kind remarks and the generous stars as well.

Great job on using the ABC structure. Very impressed with how you stuck to the hero story line the whole way through from A to Z. Awesome!

I think this is the best ABC Acrostic I have ever read. Wow!!!! the imagery you put in this poem is exceptional. I wish I had a six left, but I could walk for a million years and not have picked enough stars for this poem. Thank you my friend

Wow! What encouraging and flattering comments. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Six stars are nice, but your comments mean much more. Thank you so much for the generous review. I appreciate it more than I can say.

I initially thought that this was an acrostic, given the formatting and the capitalization of every first letter in each line. I was pleased to discover that I was wrong, as I am not a big fan of acrostic styled poetry...
That being said, I loved this one! Captain America is my third, most favorite super-hero, with the Batman being number one, and Spiderman coming in a close second...
Wonderfully done, w.j.debi, a rousing tale, told in poetic flair and style!

I must admit that Batman and Spiderman are my favorites as well. But I wrote this for my nephew. Wolverine is his very favorite, but all the X-men, Avengers and G.I. Joe are high on his list.
Thank you the very encouraging remarks and the gracious comments. I appreciate the generous review. LOVE the picture of the Batman you included.

w.j., you've done an outstanding job with an ambitious undertaking. Not only have you met the requirements of the poem, but it's rhyming couples flow effortlessly. :) nancy

Very good. This sound fine when read and should entertain kids, eight to ten or so, very well. Some of the words might be hard for those younger. You have done a superb job of rhyming and making this flow, in my inexpert opinion. Rather hard to keep an ABC poem from sounding forced but this is very well done. Enjoyed, made me smile as I pictured my little nephew and his friend, two summers ago, on a ninety+ degree day. Dressed in neck-hugging super-hero costumes, it made me sweat just to look at them. But, being super-heroes, the heat didn't bother them. Lol.

An excellent trend of thought surrounding the message we try to give to children. Too bad they can't deal with the reality of some crimes of sexual deviants and the like or portraying the killers of children in our schools. It would be too frightening even with it on the news sometimes too frightening in itself. Parents have this responsibility and I hope they exercise it responsibly. The real heroes are the police and those citizens who take action to protect and risk themselves.

I totally agree with you about the police and citizens that take action. I've often wondered why we pay our athletes and entertainers so much and those that are protecting us so little in comparison.
Thank you so much for sharing your insights.
I appreciate the generous review as well.

I have no other choice but to give you a six on this. This is one of the rare pieces that used all the alphabet. Not only did the writer use all the alphabet, the lines ran smoothly and the piece made sense. Good job.
