Where is Davidray? I think he would have called for more emotion out of Anna when Sam had the accident. Oh, gosh, now the worst has happened and the child has gone. What type of thugs are these to terrorise a woman like this.

Oh, crap, Barbara. What the heck is happening now? It's like everything is coming to a head - a showdown. Great build of up tension - the whole car chase thing, the accident. Well described! Great hook at the end. Av. :o)

Great writing. I loved the pace of it and the dialogue, etc.
The last was a bit of stretch. I would have expected more of an emotive response when she realized it was Slim and also I can't imagine that she would go home, alone when she just watched her PI get driven off the road.
She would know that she was in danger and that the PI wasn't coming any time soon.
Just some thoughts.

Oh, I wish she had decided to go to Paul's. I know she was following Sam's instructions but that all changed when he hit the tree. I guess it is hard to know what is the right decision in as case like that.I get so wrapped up in this story, I forget it's fiction. LOL.

Regardless all the protection that Troy arranged for Anna, exactly now someone still managed to grab Michael. Don't get quite how this could happen as she had Sam to protect her. Unless he was an imposter.

I was beginning think Anna was safe
But no you send me off on another roller coaster of suspense as new threats arrive
I fear for Anna and Michael
I hoped they would be alright with Sam following behind them
then he is driven off the road leaving them unprotected once more
Your writing is so visually described you bring your reader along with each paragraph
I look forward in anticipation for the next chapter
