A well-written story. Poor Squirrelly. Losing his tail must have been painful. The girls no doubt took special care to make life a little easier for him until he adjusted to his disability. Thanks for sharing.

I loved this writing. It was humorous but also contained an important lesson. Very well written. Good luck in the contest.

This is a cute story! I really like the way the narration is almost child-like. It suits the character of a young squirrel very well. Keep up the good work!

Good luck in the contest. I really like your story and when it comes to animals my heart just goes out to them. We had a squirrel running our neighborhood for two years with a very short tail. We all called him Bobbit, but I have noticed he is not around anymore. He hurts not to see him. I just wonder what happened. Anyways good story and wish you all the luck.

Thank you for the review. Someone told me yesterday that squirrels only live about three years. I need to look that up. So far, the real Squirrelly has live two and a half.

OUCH!!! That haad to hurt, leaving your tail behind like that. I imagine big trucks are pretty scary to little critters on the ground. Quite a cute family story.

And that part of the story is true, too. But two years later, he is still around. Thanks for the review.

My dear Squirrelly,
In life, there is always some loss and some gain. You cannot score hundred percent all the time; not in real life, anyway. You lost a tail, but as long as you have such good friends, three of them, you need not worry at all. You had an excellent thanksgiving dinner, and in all probability, you will have a special New Year dinner soon. Count your blessings and don't mourn the loss of your tail.
Wishing you A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
BTW, I enjoyed your short story immensely. Keep telling us your tales frequently.

Very cute story told as if for children. Enjoyable. I found your simple language told this well and gave good imagery still of the squirrel running around. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, Author, your squirrel is a lucky one to have true friends who does not want its friendship because of it beautiful tail and handsome appearance. Interesting story from the POV of a squirrel, good entry to the contest.

It could have been a human you were talking of here and they had lost a limb instead of a tail.
It made me smile in that even though he lost his beautiful tail it didn't take him long to think himself cute again.

Good luck in the contest.
