To jmdg1954,
A writing prompt that describes the conversation between an elderly couple.
The woman making light of what they did 56 yrs. and his urge to perform then she speaks up and reminds him with only one "V"----only if he had his L.I. paid up in case he suffered a heart attack.

I really like this story. It's funny, humorous, entertaining and a really easy read. The characters are very believable and the flow is really easy and comfortable. Everything is really well written. Really good job.

Funny and well written. The beginning leads the reader down a blind alley which gives you license to have the unusual twist of including a long lasting love affair. I liked this very much.

Pretty good 1954. You use a device to separate your characters that works, heaving us out of Alex's dream and into Jen, who is presented from the outside. That door slamming must really prey on his mind, and it was clever that you make him get the years wrong. There is one place to fix: "The Romeos agreed to take out THEIR..."
Good luck in the contest.

Ha! Love it! What a fun easy to read story you have here! I like the way it is broken yp into two time periods. I also like the way this elderly couple still love each other and enjoy being together. Very nicely done!

You have very expertly woven the past and present together in this heart-warming story. Even the word "oops" being overused is endearing and lovable in the main character, Alec.

I was glad to find out that Jen came back that first night!

A good entry, an interesting story, confident writing style but the reason here that i am giving it a 5 starer is the [ Characterization] Of Alec in particular and others generally.

You are a master in this art, my friend.

Whether It was enjoyably enough to be a winner in the Valentine's Day theme, i do not know, But I certainly liked it owing to the element i mentioned above.

Regards

K
