I think this is the first time Steven relaxed around Leya, because she was so completely on his territory and surrounded by his cohorts that he did not feel vulnerable. They both reacted like human beings for the first time, rather than individuals playing roles.

I feel very sorry for the young lady, a mark, I think, of good writing. A marriage of convenience, purely on a business arrangement like this certainly has its drawbacks, not least the complete absence of love or - it seems to me - respect. I think we are in line for a resisting romance - resisting by one party, that is.
I''m so glad you have kept this clean - exciting but clean. That is so hard to find in the - how shoould I say - 'non-Christian' novels. I wish you good luck with this book, Barbara, it seems to me to be a winner.
