A fine tribute to magical Miles. It has a wonderful feel to it...a true portrait of an artist...two notes. Two blue notes.
Two true blue notes.
Great presentation with photo.
Loved it. No nits.

Your tribute to the blues master has hallmarks of blues itself: ranging from low-key to full-out, "riffs of bliss" and highly improvisational.

I enjoyed this poem about the great Miles Davis, I think you captured the gist of the music very well in these melodic lines, full of uplifting musical images, the horns, the sunglasses, the silk scarf. lots of color, blue notes, cool sounds, a signiture found, and never lost. nice fresh line and image there. I didn't realize when I read this that Miles had a song called the birth of cool. I love to listen to jazz and the blues. I like when the artists are going freestyle, improvising. This is another well penned poem. Good job- Sam

Now this one is FABULOUS. It's moody and bluesy, as it should be considering your subject matter. A marvelous tribute to one of the greats! I loved: "Blowing horn and minds, soft then loud with riffs of bliss" Excellent!!

One of my favorites, but I love most all of them. I love the old Dizzy Gillespie and the big band era music. Was lucky enough to live in Jacksonville, Fl. home of a huge jazz festival that began with a tiny one on Mayport Naval Base. Talked to Pearl Bailey. Music that will live on through the ages. Again wonderful writing. joan marie

For me, it is rare when content takes totally over from the poetic nature of the presentation. I refuse to go back and sully the message with the vehicle. Slainte, rhymer1

Sue, great writing, dear friend. I enjoyed it very much. I'm not that much of a blues man, even though from the South, but blues, when mixed together with some soft rock, can't be beat. I really love doo-wop and oldies rock, from the '60s, and the very early '70s, which to me, were the best years of any music, ever. Followed by the Big Band years of the '40s.
Damn, I'm old
