I wouldn't penalize your work. It's too important to a writer and we mustn't forget the first ammendment. Your writing is excellent and so is this poem. You tell it like it is. You nail everythinhg I try to understand. I applaud your standing. Great job.

I believe that this piece had a great pace to it and I found it to be a charming little poem. great fluid words led to an easy read with the meaning very obvious. Thanks for sharing...DKLRD

I didn't get one but I can't see it stimulating anything but the pockets of many who misused the money. Me I would have paid off a bill. But I see it going to fun stuff or things that are illegal. Great write. joan marie

60's you have put the whole "bail-out" in perspective. Now let's hope China can find the money to loan us so that your statements come true...or hope not.

Boy, did you hit the nail on the head! China is our largest creditor and with these so-called stimulus packages, we are going to need to issue more Treasuries. The Chinese will buy them and not necessarily for the return on investment. Just for their ability to hold us hostage to their demands of any kind. I'm not talking about them "taking over our nation" or anything like that. Just that we are going to be weakened across the board. We're already there. Thanks so much for your commentary and for your review. Sue

"Manna from Uncle Sam" is a well written and stated poem. This political commentary has a smooth flow, nice rhythm and perfect rhyming and its message is on target. Bravo!

Hi Sixteezkid,
Great rhyming, and grteat message. I am in absolute agreement with the content. Please do more of this sort of thing- these are perilous times, and freedom is so precious. Once it is lost, and government handout socialism takes over, can it ever be regained?

Sometimes there is a point of no return. This is my fear. We've faced tough times before, but have handled it with everyone just taking the beating and coming out stronger. Our government is is not allowing us to take the beating now; just prolonging it and it will be 100 times worse. Debt to any family, city, state, country is an enemy. We have gone far beyond comprehension "in debt" with numbers that cannot be realized by the human mind. And there will be more spending bills after they realize this method does not work. Worrisome beyond measure. Thank you for your comments and review. Sue

Yes- massive credit card defaulting may come next, and if the person now in the white house decides to carry out the agenda of nationalizing major industries, I think we will no longer have any free enterprise to speak of. Very sad.

If the other party could get it's sh*t together, and have BETTER answers (instead of participating in the pork and poor judgment), 2010 could turn Congress around.
But, this latest bill passed today for $410 BILLION was made of up 40% Republican pork and 60% Democrat pork.
How the hell can one tell the difference??
I can say one thing, I still believe in the strong spirit of the middle American. We may all think we're complacent, but just let them all push us to the brink. Then, they'll all be knocked off their precious pedestals. Hell, I wouldn't mind a revolution to take back what our Founding Fathers created. To hell with political correctness, leftist agendas, and power hungry politicians in general. Oh, excuse me....do I sound angry? HA!!!

I would like to see a strong conservative third party emerge from all this. A party with integrity.

I can be quite opinionated! LOL!! I just got really upset yesterday about the new $450 billion omnibus bill that's being passed. If Obama really wanted to score HUGE points with America, he should veto that bill. SO MUCH more faith would be in his administration. Wish he would play it smarter and tell Congress to take a hike with their pork! Crooks...all of them. We're being robbed blind as stand here like deer with eyes caught in the headlights. Numbed and helpless. Thanks very much for your very kind review. With regards, Sue

i don't blame you for feeling that way, our government keeps bailing out the banks leaving the tax payers to pick up the tab each time, man what a mess, your welcome for the review, i enjoyed the straight talking

Oh, Sue, I love the cadence of your poem and the rhyming couplets and the humorous tone - as for the contents, we shall speak no more. LOL And if anyone docks anyone's work for disagreeing with a political/social/religious point of view, I still do not see why those reviews should not be tossed by Tom. I know it happens and it is ludicrous. I had one guy downgrade me because I entered a really good poem about death into a contest being run by Alvin near Christmastime, and the guy said it was an inappropriate time of year for poems about dying. It is one of the very few times I've ever gone to Tom, and he thought I should just suck it up while I thought he should be condemning censorship. I certainly hope reviewers behave this time. Brooke

What content? LOL!!!! Yeah, I got hit once like that. Person said he didn't see ANYTHING funny about someone getting electrocuted by a kitchen toaster! LMAO!! Got 4 stars! HA!!! Glad you liked the cadence and tone. (sans content - ha!) Even though you and I are poles apart on the political spectrum, I like that we do share so much love and concern for our country and people's needs. Guess you could call me a bleeding heart conservative! LOL! Luv ya, Brooke
