I just adore the center line of this poem and how well you handled the circumnavigation back to the word cruel. The artwork is very appropriate and really adds to the whole package. Nicely done and very entertaining. Adam :)

Adam, thanks for your great review and comment about the center line and "circumnavigation". Those two points are what make me love the rictameter. And thank you for your lovely review. With regards, Sue

I won't punish you for missing a contest. That would be "cruel" LOL. Great poem and excellent description of a cruel personality. I hope there wasn't anyone in your life that inspired this poem. It seems we all know someone like that. Then again, that type of person makes us better people.

I've already been punished by Hitcher! Ha! No current inspiration for the poem..just know there are some of "them" out there! Yes, we do know them! Thanks so much for your great review. Warmest regards, Sue

What did Hitcher do, write a "bad" review?
reply by the author on 09-Mar-2009
Oh, heck no! An inside joke about Hitch. He's a great friend. He's the one who sponsored the contest and he jokingly chewed me out! HA!

I'm glad. He is a great friend and writer. Hope he sticks around for a good long time.

Too bad. This is a lovely piece. Very nicely done. I would say your words depict the essence of cruel very skillfully. Nicely done.

Gteat title, great message. You always tell it like it is. This captivates with such a few words. But excellent words. Great job.

Delora, it's what I love about these highly restrictive forms. Sure make you work hard on word choice! Thanks very much for your lovely review. With regards, Sue

great flow and structure to build the story within these few words. cruel is almost the worst as it is anger without reason except from eh self satisfaction that some people cn derive from cruelty.

Very, very true. "anger without reason", but for one's own needs. Thank you for your kind compliments and review. With regards, Sue

I have to say I was VERY disappointed when you did not post my friend, I knew you would still post of course, this is a great rictameter and would of given the contest something more to consider at the booth, I'm wounded, ouch...it hurts, ha ha. Short ya shit out WOMAN!! Sorry I'm back now. Excellent rictameter with some powerful word choices and would of been a contender in my book, alas not to be.

Get the velvet glove out and "smack"! Ha!! I thought Sunday was the deadline day. Anyway, I enjoyed writing this piece. You know that I DO LOVE the rictameter! Could not believe you sponsored this not long after we talked about it! Good for you! Thanks for your great review, Hitch. Always, Suc

I couldn't wait for you friend, you've been a little distant of late and Quoting from a famous movie, "if you build it they will come'', I thought you'd come friend, I was wrong! The glove is out, assume the position, ha ha. I didn't realize you had to pay to host one, makes one appreciate the people who organize them a bit more. Your turn next Suc.

**assuming position** LOL!!! (we're gonna get booted off the site!) HA!!

I have been distant. Haven't been able to review and respond like I was before. Writing has been off. The ole plate is full. Full of shit, mostly. But, we have our peaks and troughs and I know where I am right now.

Plus, doing lots of business stuff. Interest rates plummeting, so I am refinancing home. Paperwork, paperwork. Plus, tons of other stuff; car registrations...you name it. All the stuff that is boring as hell and has a deadline. AH!!! No wonder I missed the Ric deadline! I'm sub-consciously dreading deadlines. Ha!

Anyway, I'm getting rid of my guilt of not reviewing and responding like I should. Will be fully back in the saddle again soon.

Yes, it costs a few bucks to sponsor a contest. I was going to a few days ago, but just didn't want to deal with all the questions, etc. Not with all I've been busy with.
Hope your back is doing better and all is well with the family!

    Your Yankee Doodle Dandy,
    Suc

Hi, Sue.
you've obviously had more important things going on than FS, though I can't imagine that being possible, personally. LOL!
Great pic of me on a good day!
That bloody Picasso earned millions for mediocrity, and I'm a broke genius poet. Life's SO unfair! ;-)
This cad sounds awful, the blighter!
Terrific writing, and I hope you don't really encounter his'her type. Love, Ray xx

This is a great rictameter, Sue. Pity you missed the contest deadline - could have been a winner. Great subject and what a perfect picture to accompany it. I wish I knew how to get a picture from the computer other than from Fanart - I'm clueless. Great job.

Hugs

Roisin
