Ah, another good little poem. In fact, I like this one even more than I did your last little poem on Music. The diamond shape does add a nice symbolic note to the poem. A man or woman's word can be worth their weight in gold or less than dirt. Good job. Sincerely, Dean

If my word was not trusted, I know that I would feel pure shame. To be trusted is such a huge part of what we should be. One of THE fundamentals of life. Sadly, it is falling by the wayside. Thanks much for your review, Dean....very much appreciated. Sue

It doesn't say, but I assume this is for the rictameter contest and if so it is a great entry and I wish you the best of luck. A mans word should be taken as such, by a handshake and that is golden and precious and held with great honor. Excellent poem, good luck in the contest Kay

Integrity is missing in so many people today. Your poem points how necessary it is, and how much we have left behind us... when a man's word actually meant something.
Very good composition and use of language to write this structured poem.

You are extremely good at these Rictameters! Another masterful piece of word-smithing! Sadly, there are very few men out there to whom it applies (in my own humble experience). Nevertheless, a really pleasant piece.

Very sad, indeed. I actually had someone review this work and didn't quite get it. I was stunned, as this is the epitome of the example of how it's gone by the wayside! Thanks so much for your lovely review. Really appreciated. Sue :-))

Hi Sue...this is a fine rictameter. I like this poetry form but never remember then until I read one. For such a short poem the words have a good flow and the message is very well done....blessings....chey

Oh, this one gives me goosebumps, SK. Wish I had another six. When I was just a small girl, most of my world operated this way; trusting people's words. But truth has slowly eroded; through deceitful advertising, media, and just 'greed' in general. Now, it's so rare to find someone who really means what they say, and who's life will back it up. Just a superb write. Take care,
Heather

If only every man were that sincere. I love the thought that we could always count on a mans word. I know that I live that way. The poem carried a wonderful message. Great job.
