I met the man once, and never forgot how "common" he carried himself. My favorite actor of all time. A great tribute to a great America Hero. Enjoyed it my "southern" friend.

So cool! How did you meet him? Under what circumstances? So glad I wrote about your favorite actor. A legend, he was and still is. I have a beautiful bronze statue of him on horseback. Magnificent! Thanks so much for the review...."southern sue" (ha!)

Truth of the matter, I bumped into him, literally. I wasn't looking. He was nice about it and tried to apologize for bumping into me when it was my fault. The funny thing was, I almost didn't go with the others thst day.

Ha!! Same here. I literally BUMPED into two stars. Once in the Pump Room restaurant in Chicago, I turned around and bumped right in to Anthony Quinn. Ha! We said our apologies.

And then, another time, I was in LA airport, waiting for elevator to open from the Lounge. When it opened, a crowd of people came out and I bumped straight into Brad Pitt. Well, you know us gals.......BRAD PITT!! LOL!!!!

Yeah, I hear you. Surprised ya didn't faint in his arms.

Ha! I couldn't. He was flanked by an entourage of beautiful girls! LOL!!
This was back when he was younger, single and a gorgeous thing.

Oh, you must've dropped 'im when he tried to 'faint' in your arms.

Now, THAT sounds more like it. (a fantasy, that is) - HA!

I don't have a "star love" now. However, my favorite actor now is Christian Bale. Whoa! What an actor. He can play any role, any how, any way!

(by the way, I'm a crazy film buff)
Favorite Films? Anything by the Coen Brothers!

I love old Black-n-whites. My favorite all time is a little story about George Bailey and the o' Savings and Loan Bldg ....

Don't go breaking my heart! "It's A Wonderful Life" is one of the BEST films ever made!!! The man just wanted to SEE THE WORLD and everytime he got the chance, something else came up! But, he found that everything he needed was right in front of his nose. I've cried while watching that film.

Don't get me started, you're the first who likes it besides me. Movies were good back then.

A nice little nostalgic treat. But for one glitch in rhyme sequence, in second verse, lines one and three, it is well worth 5 stars. You really nailed the tetra and trimetre format. No need to force the accent anywhere. Nice one.

My intentions were to switch green and beret and forgot. Do you mind revisiting your review. I have changed it. THANK YOU SO MUCH for highlighting this serious flaw! Warm regards, Sue

Grovel, grovel. I did it again. I hang my head in shame, being an injuneer and all. I meant to add that I am delighted I was of assistance, but also to ask "How the Hell can I add a star". Please tell me. Regards, Reg

Sue, Still no word as to how I can upgrade you to 5 stars. Are you There? Reg

LOL!! HOW on earth did I miss these? Ha! You say you're an engineer and you're having trouble with this! You're making me laugh too hard here!! HA!! - I SO appreciate you making these attempts to reach me. Beyond me as to how I haven't seen them, as I ALWAYS read these responses. Anyway, here goes: Just click on the poem and click on "review", as if it were the first time. And just change the star level! And that's it. Believe me, when I first started here, I couldn't figure it out for the life of me! I SO appreciate your upgrade! AND, your attempts to reach me to do so. If you have ANY problem, just let me know (I'll be watching for a message). Again, from my heart...I thank you. :-)) Sue

A wonderful poem about a really great man. I love all of his movies and your poem does him justice. The poem flows well and rhymes nicely.

I used to love the Duke. Still do, but after a stint in basic training with a drill sgt. who was a John Wayne "fanatic," I cooled my jets a little.
Great write cuz!
Sincerely,
Curt

HA!! Yeah, don't ya just hate it when anyone becomes obsessed with anything!! The Duke is a national icon. I own a beautiful bronze statue of him up on horseback. It stands here by me now. I most certainly did not watch all his movies, but when you do catch one, it seems to draw you in. Thanks for the review, Cuz - xx Suz
