I can't disagree with any of this glorious rant! Somebody had to say it you did - eloquently! As the grandmother of a disabled child especially, I agree what a shame it is, where they decide to cut! It's shameful! You tell 'em!

I think if I were you Sue I'd be wanting heads to roll my friend, it is always the ones who need help the most who end up getting shafted because they seem to be the easiest to brush under the carpet. I love the way you let vent, very impressive!

Hello my friend,
We can let a guy walk around free that stole 50 billion dollars but we cannot help kids. We take away from the schools and such but there is so much pork in the government... Now you have got my hackles up.... Awesome write my friend.... Dreamdancer

What great political/social satire told with wonderful rhymes!
The structure of your poem is as impressive as the insightfulness of the indictment of many current wrongs. Great work!!

I couldn't agree more with this; sorry to hear about your daughter; what a rotten area to choose to cut;

liked this:

"Where is Congress?
Think us fools
You've no rules
Ambiguous
On hiatus!"

Well done, keep writing!

I totally agree with your sentiments in this poem. It is the same in my country. The only comment I have is that some of the acronyms were foreign to me, and probably others. Could you maybe include a key in your Author Notes? Cheers. :)

EXCELLENT! Hits right home for anyone the world over these days. I've seen some good poems detailing the current global economic crisis but this is by far the best. Although I'm not American, i still sympathise with your woes! Things aren't too great this side of the pond either!

:)

I totally agree. When I heard about the 4 billion dollars spent on the campaign to switch from analog tv to digital I went nuts. In Jacksonville, I worked to help elect a mayor who actually did what he campaigned. Don't think I can think of another since. Good read. joan marie
