This is a great poem about your friends photography. How you've captured that love to get the perfect shot in each stanza bringing lovely imagery to the reader.
And most importantly the capturing of history. I'm sure your friends was very pleased with this poem! Well done

Thanks, Nicki. He is an amazing guy, even if we are on the the opposite ends of the political spectrum.

Your poem paints such a realistic picture of what photography is about. There are some beautiful lines that won me over: "The time worn lines in someone's face," Do you think the time worn would work better with a hyphen between them?-- "time-worn" --just a thought. In retrospect, I guess it's a matter of preference and emphases -- both of them should work. Well done. Thanks for sharing and all the best for the contest.

I am a lousy photogrpher, but I know that feeling of wanting to capture a one-of-a-kind scene. This was a unique poem and a good entry in the Rhyming Poem contest.

I don't have any talents, really. That's probably why I write.

Hi Paul,
This is a well done poem of abcb quatrains that show how the pictured photographer, and probably all photographers react to the world around them.
Good luck in the contest
Keep writing and stay healthy

Oh yes, I think it's almost like taking a photo of the sunset in every corner of the globe as a traveler, which I've done on the many travels Elaine and I have made in places we've seen, even in Russia, I think. This is beautifully written Paul, in articulate verse, and abcb rhyme, well dine, blessings Roy

A beautifully rhymed and metered poem depicting the life of a photographer. I enjoyed the images you captured through the photographer's lens.
Good luck in the contest.

Thanks, Nancy. A picture is worth a thousand words, but I ran out of words.

You've really captured the patience of the photographer waiting for that perfect shot, the right light, in your well rhymed poem, Paul. Just one edit in the last two lines a couple of ring-in letters. Lovely read,
Cheers

Thanks, Marilyn. Have you ever written any poems about your husband's photographs?

I actually haven't because he takes a lot of what might be called maco photography. not sure if that is the proper term. Extreme close ups of nature and not alot of animal life...mostly rocks, plants, flowers and insects recently. But I should look back trough his older ones and see if i can find something. That's a great idea. If I come up with something to write about i will be sure to let you know.

Many years ago I had an Olympus 35mm camera with a few lens attachments but was never able to get "the shot".
Over time I used it less and less.
Your poem sets the stage for what I lacked in the photography world.
Thank you for writing and sharing.

I really enjoyed reading your poem and think it will do very well in the rhyming contest.
I particularly love Kodak's holy grail. Great poem as always.
Good luck and best wishes. Jen.
