Mateo is probably enjoying his job dating pretty girls for the police. Wouldn't it be great if he found his own princess among them? Sami is still convincing Noah to fudge the rules with hugs. Good story line with enough action and uncertainty to keep me reading.

Thank you for the kind review. Sami can be very convincing. I think Noah says 'bad influence'. LOL

Very nice post, Barb. I enjoyed not seeing Sami getting irrational. Hopefully we will be catching all the bad guys pretty soon and getting Sami and Noah together.

Your characters are true to form, and the setting will appeal to your dedicated audience. The premise though, it may be going a bit too long. Yes, Sami is bored, but because she's in protective custody in one house. Why wasn't she relocated to any of other forty-nine states or territories? What I mean, is I would suggest looking into the legal/ law enforcement element of the story, with a focus on how far belief can be suspended.

The character list is helpful. I am. I've told you, regardless of what Mateo says, I'm not interested in anything other than friendship." Sami giggled. "It's no different than my feelings for you, Jose. I like you as a friend, but I could care less who you date." She tilted her head. "I'd have some thoughts if you tried to date Sarah. She's married." Intriguing stuff. Looks like everyone went to their rooms? What kind of establishment is this? Looks like TAPS! Lights out! I'm juggling many novels, trying to keep each novel separate in my mind. Don't see anything notable that's not correct.

BOO!

Sounds a bit complex and dangerous for Mateo, but it could work. I am sure Sami is going nuts just playing Solitaire and Uno. A few more weeks will be hard for her. Well written chapter.

I think, sometimes, we get so wrapped up in the Noah/Sami relationship, we can forget about Myra and the reason Sami is there. So it was good to see her name brought up. And also, perhaps, for the air to be cleared regarding any concern Noah might have had for Sami's deeper interest in Mateo. A good opportunity here to consolidate information. I wonder what significance the puzzle box has? Thanks for sharing your excellent chapter, Barbara. Take care Debbie

It sounds like Mateo is making his contribution to stopping Chen. I hope he doesn't try to make Sami beholden to her for his part in helping shut down the human trafficking operation. With Sami's interest in the attic, I'm beginning to wonder if there's something relevant to the case up there. They are hard up for something to do if they want to play Uno. I hope they catch the human trafficking ring soon so Sami can go back to her normal life. Great work with the characters. judi

Glad to have been here while I had six. A very interesting installment. A bit short of action, but the characters are developing so well. i am wondering what might be in the puzzle box. Will it end up like Giraldo and Al Capone's vault?

This is a great and interesting story (i.e. chapter in an ongoing story) and what I really like about it is the amount of authentic dialogue, broken up well with actions,
Some parts of the punctuation in the dialogue may need looking at e.g. using comma's or colons instead of periods after an action and before a speech - but on the other hand, that could be just your style, so don't revise it if you are comfortable as it is!

In US English we use commas before or after speech. Thank you for the kind review. I noticed romance wasn't your thing, so I really appreciate this review.

Hi Barbara, maybe you musunderstood me... I was referring to punctuation (colons and periods), and not
quotation marks (inverted commas) before and after speech ("Hello," he said ... and not "Hello." He said.)
I hope that clears it up!

Not a problem. We seem to have this understanding problem. We'll get it worked out. LOL

Ah, do Noah and Sami are getting na wee breather, and a chance to catch up on things. At the moment nothing much is happening, and that's good. They also need a break like anyone else. I'm sure a lot will happen soon. Hugs, Ulla xcx
