Good morning, Carole,
How I enjoyed this exceptionally well-crafted chapter!
Your narrative flows smoothly and while it is filled with emotion, it is not in any way maudlin.
I could see the action play out in my mind, and your characters are believable.
Thank you for sharing!

thank you, Diane. It is the prologue to a story that I hope will interest the reader dealing with lost pasts, secrets, and dysfunctional families. Thanks so much for the awesome review and the beautiful stars.

This sound like a good beginning of a new story. It will be interesting to see which way this one goes. I assume the baby she put up for adoption is Charles. In the last two paragraphs you have "their brief but intense love" in both. Maybe it should only be in one of them.

Thanks I'll check it out.... but Charles was the patient she nursed back to health and built a friendship with. He was a pilot and an artist, something they shared. thanks for reading. Appreciate it very much.

I would love to give you another six, your writing is always spellbinding. I'm hopeful Eleanor's husband will return and guide her. Now I'm well and truly hooked with this new story. Well done, my friend. :)) Sandra xxxx

Have I confused you? Eleanor's husband is dead and Charles (her undeclared lover) is in England. When the story begins...Eleanor will also be deceased. Let me know how you think I should rearrange this. I trust your suggestions and it is the middle of the night here. LOL
Love you, my dear!
