A clearly explained and succinct explanation of Fanstory ( no one wants to read reams of 'small print.') I wish I'd seen this at the start because it can all seem very mystifying. My only tiny suggestion would be the verb 'read' in your #1 note. It's a real bugbear with me because, at first glance, it tends to read in the present tense when you've intended it as an adjective/ past tense. So one stumbles for a moment. Maybe 'clearly legible'?

Prompted by your astute observation and very kind invitation to tweak, I realized I had failed to incorporate something that is very important to me. It is the concept of: © Copyright 2024. By the author. All rights reserved. Registered copyright with FanStory.

This is totally on the money, and something I wish I'd read when I joined FanStory in 2018. I've discovered that "interact beyond the basic thank you" is one of the better pieces of advice, as FanStory has proven to be as much a social site as a writing and reviewing one, and I've made some good (albeit long distance) friends here.
I think your words, "We welcome you as you are, but greet you with the stated goal of helping you to become even better" sum up the site perfectly. I came on this site thinking I was an excellent poet. It wasn't until after a couple of years here, taking in everyone's input, that I actually turned my earlier submissions into excellent poems.
New members would be lucky to read your honest and excellent information and advice, and your "This is a place for WRITERS acrostic is a nice, added bonus. Good luck in the contest.

That's funny, because I get called a writer and I still look around for who they are talking to. I consider myself a story teller. Grammar is my nemesis, always has been always will be. But from the corrections and mistakes that are pointed out to me time and again, I am learning. This is a great place for all of the reasons you listed. Good luck in the contest. Gretchen

I have heard it said, and I have repeated, "If you write, you are a writer" probably the same could be said for storytelling. That is really my passion as well. I want to think I'm a storyteller L O L Thank you for both reading and reviewing my piece. Thank you very much for the five stars.

I've been on the site for several weeks and contemplating is it right for me, I started to become disappointed that my poem had X amount of views and very little reviews which indicates to me, I'm pretty bad writer. But the other side of me says, but some do read and review and although the number is small it's still something and I enjoy writing poems so much. I think illl stick it out a little longer. The key really is to review others especially "Up Next" because that gives you a at least a one in four chance of getting a member cent pump. Another huge thing that it does is help you in your writing. It really really does help. Please continue to stay with us and don't go.

Making your font bigger is perfect and yet I so often see some that have been here for ages still using that ugly old fashioned font and small sizes.
Also telling them to vote. Perfect idea, as I always forget to vote. All your suggestions caused me to think about how a refresher course wouldn't hurt some of the old ones too. LOL..So I love that idea. This is a really good contest entry and I wish you really good luck in the contest.
