Could this be Patti LaBelle. Yes, like they say, "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach." Some of us have to find other ways- writing, and on and on.

In many cases they have and exhibit the power to make or break a man's heart into tiny little pieces. If and when they so desire, they can make a man's heart rejoice. On the other hand they can make a man feel that his heart no longer belongs to him.

This is "delicious". It is not so much about food, but the celebration of what makes the man's wife and love so special.

An easy read with excellent rhyming to move it along.
This poem has a good flow and pace also.

You can blame me for not even being aware of the contest. I rarely enter contests anymore as I am always deflated by having my work seemingly ignored or so it seems to me.

I do understand! I went for a long period without going in any Recently I have entered a few, and I always get fewer reviews.

sounds like you could be talking about your mom. I always think no one can make beans like mom. She loved beans. Fixed them all the time. She's gone now. Sometimes, I make beans and wish she was around to add that one ingredient only she could add...love...

Thank you so much. My mother taught me how to make all the dishes she liked and once I learned to make them to her satisfaction, cooking them became my new assignment. Clever woman, my mom.

Thank you. I always try to write something to uplift my reader's day. I hate burdening them with heavy and sad stories.
