I bought three LPs when I firth entered college: "Abbey Road", Frank Zappa's "Burnt Weenie Sandwich" and the old college staple, "Inna gadda da vida". Haven't heard it in ages. My wife never wanted me to drink, and I'm honoring her now even though she's gone, so I'll have to pass on the limoncello.

I know I'll be facing her one day! Also, my daughter would be so shocked if I were caught drinking.

Love it! Plus I learned something new about one of my favorite oldie songs. Too stoned to sing it right? That makes sense lol I am hoping you do a recipe for Kahlua at some point. Thanks for posting.

Thank you, Marilyn for reading and enjoying.
Also, challenge accepted. I'll need some time to research making Kahlua at home.
    Thanks again.

The poem does a good job in promoting a recipe for limoncello. You obviously are fond of the drink and use a bit of creativity in the various steps you have used to the unveiling stage on your anniversary. However, I found myself reading a recipe book, written in a simplistic manner that left me wondering when I would get to the recipe, waiting for a surprise.

Your love for limoncello seems very strong. I don't know if you are using it as a metaphor--- lemons manifesting the problems with life or just sharing it as a recipe to make limoncello. You purchase problems (purchasing bushels of lemons) for the out come of creating the good life (limoncello).

But perhaps , you didn't use it as a metaphor--- just as a sharing of a recipe .

Thank you for reading my post, I appreciate you stopping by, but you totally missed it. Its not a poem as you indicated and for the past year I've shared stories and recipes, this one being a bit different.
    Anyway, thanks again.

Sorry, had no idea that this was supposed to be what it purports to be-- a recipe, presented cleverly. I guess, I was looking for something more than what was presented to set it apart from some other prose.

Thank you for sharing this experience with us. I'm not jealous over this recipe. I am a teetotaler so not interested. I happen to really like lemons though. I enjoyed reading.

Well no old folk in the residential home. Just two youngsters sharing that delicious limoncello. Congrats to you and Debbie! This is Italy in a glass. All I want now is the sunshine and the setting. Thank you for sharing this piece of magic. Just a small edit: homem(a)de (6th line from the bottom). Lovely job, John! Take care Debbie

We've had sunshine the past few days with temps a tad bit over 80 degrees. Though I like the warm weather, it's not time yet and our pool is scheduled to be opened on May 15, then it can climb above 80.

Thank you, Debbie for reading and the 6 glistening Limoncello stars.
    Also for the correction.

Your piece is a delightful blend of storytelling, recipe sharing, and personal anecdote, all centered around the creation of homemade Limoncello. Thanks for sharing.
