God isn't finished with you, yet. He has an important purpose for you in this life. I enjoyed reading. This post is very well written, and I couldn't find any way to improve it. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks so much for the read. I cannot really outrun death, but I can distract him. I did die for a few seconds during one of my operations, and I did see a tunnel and a light. I saw relatives that had passed, and they told me to go back. I think we see what our minds can comprehend. I am going to write an alliterative poem contest, I think. Thanks for the read.Karen

Nice complementary picture art choice. The Grim Reaper always looks so...grim!
"Through the years, he has changed his ways." Oh yes, that is his style alright--never quite coming at you from the same angle. Diabolically sneaky and shifty.
"Unbelievably bad surgeries." Now, this one is REALLY bad!
"He knows I will not be nudged along.: Ironically, that is his best tactic against us all--nudging. Slowly, patiently, subtly nudgig us toward that inevitable end. *Gulp--Sigh*

The Lord has been very merciful to you, as He has me. Your work is not yet done. Your writing is still valued by myself and many others. I pray for mercies and blessings to abound in your life.

This was a mysterious stand aline piece of fiction. I don't know the actual age or gender ( because it is fiction). I don't know the health circumstances of the person. I do know that death is the antagonist. I see a cloaked figure, standing just off to the side, trying to time his move when the protagonist will be at his weakest. Great piece. Gretchen

Ciao !

I can see why you are convinced Death is stalking you and wants to take you.

Im sorry you faced so many trials but on the bright side, you have always over come them.

Why ?

Cause you are a fighter and you will kick, buck , bite till you have breath , you have no intention to make Death's job easy.

I wish you many birthdays to come !

And keep strong !

Glad you pulled through, did it scare you to see relatives who had passed ?

reply by the author on 29-Apr-2024
No, I was happy to see them I saw them how they looked best to me. They were happy so I was happy. I wanted to join them. They said I could join them, but that I should go back, lots of folks needed me, and I had things no one but me could do. So, like a good girl, I came back. :-)

I missed out on saying goodbye to my mother who died suddenly idem my father.

I wish I could see them to say I loved them .. you risked dying but on the other hand, you saw loved ones.

They kind of broomed me out the door. Stay where you are don't come closer. No kisses, no hugs, but I felt their love radiating off them.Karen

You relate this flash powerfully, taking the reader into your confidence in very succinct prose and sharing your primal fear of approaching death (which of course we all have). You're clearly a strong lady who's battled your nemesis thus far and, if any one can give it a run for its money, it's you, Karen! I'd say 'Keep your pecker up!' but apparently it's rude in the US:)) Well done! Debbie

I must tell you this writing blew me away. I wish I could put into words how I felt reading this. You are a truly gifted writer. A person who writes in a way the has meaning to the reader. That's why I say you are gifted. I am going to add it to my other readings.

This writing is a ten! Since we can only go to a six. I want you to know it is well deserving of a six.

As they say, you begin dying the moment you take your first breath. But some get hurried along more than others. You've fought the man with the sythe many times, a few more times won't do you any harm, but it might just pee the Grim Reaper, which wouldn't be a bad thing!! LOL. Well done, my friend. And carry on fighting. :)) Sandra xx

This is a well written and I am sorry that you have had so much difficulty in your life. you sound quite a bit like me and as much as that I am had a lot of difficulties in my life as well, but I am not wanting to give up soon. The struggle sometimes are hard, but the struggles are worth it and we can be a blessing to others as they see how we manage during our difficult times. Have a nice day and a very good weekend. Patricia .

When given thought, death begins at the moment of birth. Even though we climb many a mountain, the descent into the Valley of Death is unavoidable. I always felt that I have a purpose here and as long as God thinks I have that purpose remaining He gives unto me additional time.

I think the one in charge likes us scrappy ones. We have more energy for the matrix. Here's a joke to brighten your day: No one liked the dwarf at the nudist colony. He kept putting his nose into everybogy's business. :-)
