This is an excellent post. I sure hope Steve can be trusted. I wouldn't want Ayesha to be duped. She's coming into her own. I hope it all comes together for her but I am betting it's going to be a rocky road.

Phew, this is the first time I have come across this very eventful novel which is certainly very full of Happening Stuff. I like the idea of riches going to such a worthwhile cause. I visited a similar sanctuary in Borneo a few years ago. Maybe it provided inspiration for you?

I spent a while in Phuket ten years ago and visited a trekking lodge. I've also seen working elephants in Sri Lanka. I don't think there was so great an emphasis on conservation in those days.
