Pretty and soft as the buttercup may be our pastures are filled with bitterweed sneeze that chokes the life of the grasses that our stock require to grow fat to feed the masses. Why do I comment there. idk, other than thinking the weed seen were buttercups. I was corrected!

Thanks, Tom.
We are right at the start of summer here and the rural roads seem to have bright yellow carpets either side, stretching as far as the eye can see. I know they are weeds and I don't like that they're starting to pop up in my lawn as well, but heck they are beautiful and certain to raise the spirits.

-A well written poem with a good topic.
-Effective nature imagery with the skies and buttercups.
-I like the image "golden dreams" to go with the theme.
-A very good concluding line.
-Good luck in the contest.

You're welcome.
Comment from Paul Manton
Buckets of assonance, consonance and split alliteration makes the sound of this perfectly formed haiku a delight to read.
The image is so well painted that I can feel the warmth of the sun and the whirr of (unmentioned but surely there) bees.
Thanks Steve. On a cool London November morning, a ray of New Zealand sunshine!

Wonderful! It's getting colder and mistier here. Chipping ice off the car every morning - but much warmer next week.
Best wishes for a great Summer. Paul

What a beautiful way to evoke an atmosphere of positivity and possibilities. The image and colours are lovely and help to convey the golden brightness of summer and the excitement of dreams which glow in the sunlight. Thanks for the share and good luck for the contest.

Yes, we have the same joys. I'm in Australia, just across the ditch. :)

-What a beautiful, bright presentation for your 3 line poem, Steve. Life is good when we can still appreciate the little things, like these gorgeous little yellow buttercups. Very nice, and good luck in the contest.
