A lovely story from Pup's perspective and how true! They are completely different creatures. Cats, in my view, will always default to their feral instincts whilst dogs have been domesticated and worked by humans for much longer, forging a closer bond. Your story is well expressed, engaging the reader with humour and some great anecdotes. A strong entry for the contest and I wish you good luck! Debbie

Thank you. Cats do think they are superior beings. I know because I have always lived with cats around me.

This is an adorable story and it made me laugh. I didn't recognize the names of the cats so I'm not sure whose story you wrote a sequel to. Maybe I didn't read the rules well because I though you were supposed to tell the name of the story this is a sequil for.

Thank you. Nope, this is for the first sequel contest where we are required to write a sequel to one of our own stories that won a contest in the past. It had to be over six months ago, so I picked one of my winning stories from a while back. Glad you enjoyed it. Oh, we are not supposed to give away the name of the our story that we wrote the sequel for. I haven't written a story for the second sequel contest yet. I will if I find the time.

At the end of the first paragraph you state, "It was a good life." That makes it sound like Pup is no longer with us.
Well, having owned both cats and dogs (currently two cats), I have to agree with the cats: they are smarter. BUT dogs are more loyal.
Thanks for sharing this "pet tale/tail" and good luck in the contest.

Thank you, and thanks for pointing out that sentence to me. I will edit and change the wording. I tend to agree with you. I think cats are smarter, too.

This is so very cute. I do not remember the original story so that is great!
I adore dogs but I have a feeling that cats can outwit/smart them.
Great Sequel. Good luck in the competition!

Thank you. The story we wrote the sequel for had to be over six months ago. I agree with you that cats are smarter than dogs in their own way, but don't tell Pup I said that.

Oh yes, there have always been cats among the dogs, only one cat was brought willingly home, the rest they were strays, and not one dog we owned was brought home, all were strays, but the gave us succour, whether cat or dog, and All of them hold a special place in our hearts, beautifully written, good luck, blessings Roy

Thank you. All the animals in this story are strays, even Pup. She was brought into the vet's office after someone rescued her. My veterinarian agreed to find a home for her.

I loved Pup's entry in the contest. I know you helped him with spelling and grammar, but he crafted a realistic, humorous account of the differences between him and his feline family. A seeing-eye cat really made me laugh. Tell Pup dogs are this reviewer's favorite. Best wishes in the contest.
They least they could do would be (The least)

There are dog people and there are cat people. Perhaps the best circumstance are those that have incorporated both into their extended family. As you stated, dogs excel as seeing eye animals and as therapy animals. Cats have a special knack of making you feel you are invited into their world, then showing they are superior when the spirit hits them. Thank you for a very entertaining story!

Thank you. I love cats and dogs equally. However, I do think cats are smarter in a lot of ways. Please don't tell Pup I said that.

Your secret is safe with me! P.S.-Special Tip: If you want to see a movie with a great cat twist to it, see the original LOGSN'S RUN, in which Peter Ustinov, near the latter end of the movie, has some great cat scenes!

Lol this is great! Very funny. I enjoyed reading your dog's views on cats and being annoyed because he wasn't allowed to poop in the house. This was an absolute pleasure to read!!

Thank you. Hey, it's true. My dog, Pup, did try to use the litter box when she was a puppy. I think she saw the cats do it and figured she should too. It was hilarious.
