The author's words are beautiful! The poem is descriptive and creative.
Thank you for the author's notes - they speak volumes! This poem, as

Long ago when I had horses, autumn was always my favorite season. It was wonderful riding along leaf-strewn woodland trails amidst the bright colors that would be gone in such a short time. I love your description of this posting: Wrapped in Autumn. We need to see and appreciate the scattered moments of beauty in our lives because, some times, they are really hard to find...especially when looking at and hearing news coverage.
Blessings and joy, Lily

Thank you Daylily for this thoughtful and encouraging review. I'm so pleased that this one resonated with you. You are the only one who noticed "Wrapped in Autumn" which is what I feel and I'm sure when you were riding horse in autumn, that is how would feel.

Janet, down here in Texas don't usually have the lovely colors of your picture or the words of your beautiful poem. We do have the ragweed, and we sneeze and hack and cuss. Yours is better, well done. Terry.

Thank you Terry for this thoughtful and encouraging review. My husband has allergies, so I understand the sneezing. 😫
But you have fields of Bluebonnets which I hope to see one day.

Really good poem, Janet. You should have saved it for a contest. Rhyme and meter are very good, and the last stanza is exceptional.
October brings cool weather in a rush.
The sun drenched days of summer have been lost.
While Mother Nature's cheeks begin to blush,
The farmers' crops are dealing with the frost.
We dig into our closets to prepare
For winter weather that lies just ahead.
We feel a chilly nip that's in the air,
And put the warmer blankets on the bed.
The costumes all come out for Halloween.
The youngsters cannot wait for trick-or-treat.
The ghouls and ghosts and goblins will be seen
With bags of candy, walking down the street.
Although the days are getting short, I still
Enjoy those vibrant colors on the hill.

Thank you Paul for your stellar review. It's rare to get a review in the form of a poem and a delightful one in Sonnet form. I loved it.
I'm finally getting to my responses and guess what - it's Halloween night. So.....Happy Halloween my friend.
Blessings

I guess I love Ecclesiastes 3, where God gives us insight to the facts of life, that even in the midst of tragedy, there is beauty, thst life goes in cycles, but the physical is not the reality of God's, despite what's going on in the world abroad, we need to understand perspective, that when the veil of what we see roll away, there is beauty! Superbly written, blessings Roy

Yes, there is beauty in nature and the tender moments between lovers or friends. We just have to look for them and search our souls for the one true happiness found in our own backyard. Yes, that's right in our own backyard is what means the most to all of us who gather a bounty of love and contentment.

You did an excellent job of combining nature with emotion. Your melody within the verses is in a minor key with each line echoing the sadness them. I love how you end on a high note.

Wonderful reflective write. Great flow and rhyming and phonics. I enjoyed reading it aloud, especially these two favorite stanzas:
If only fears could blow away
like last year's auburn autumn leaves,
this world would be a joy filled place
of endless possibilities.
AND
But I have learned to acquiesce
and measure joy in other ways.
allowing me to see beyond
the beauty of October days.
I love how you lace wisdom and insight-ahas into these stanzas.
Great imagery. Great alliteration. Great presentation.
I'm fatigued, still, from Covid, so I won't list the details of all your poetic devices...I'll let the sixth star speak for those.
Bravo
Warmly,

Oh my RD! Where to begin. Your encouraging review has left me speechless. l am honored by your kind comments and so pleased that you enjoyed my thoughts on October. Your six did speak volumes to me.
It's been a tough year with my husband heart surgery and upcoming kidney surgery in addition, our grandson had a stroke in Taiwan and had brain surgery there within days of my husband's surgery. Thankfully, both are getting stronger everyday. So when I stopped one day and truly "looked" at the beauty of October, I could only be thankful and look beyond our little world. God is truly Good.
So sorry you had Covid. I had it a year ago and it really did take some time to recover. Take care and feel better soon.
Blessings dear rd.

Thanks for your gracious response, dear Janet. So sorry to hear of all the health challenges in your family--especially all at once! But thankful to hear it's all improving. Here too. till fatigued but not sick. Our house is getting worked on and we may finally be able to move back in (after hurricane IAN) in a couple of months.
Wish you all the best, always and all ways~
