I think all children are members of the ghouls and boogey men, but I resigned my membership when I got to my sub pubescent childhood, but kids today still possess those fears, it must come as a qualification fo childhood, beautifully written Debi, most imaginative with great rhyming and inventive language, blessings Roy

Hi Debi,
I laughed all the way through your precious poem! I could just imagine the little gray pests hiding in dark corners until they could prance around at night. Thank goodness for kitties!! That's for sure! The only true foe of our little whiskered foes!!
Thanks for the clever chuckle!!
Hugs,
Rhonda

Hello Debi,
Love this mousy war, Friday the 13th and Halloween all in one.
Excellent use of sound, rhyme. alliteration, and imagery.
My own wars are with chips and monks, cute little varmints
that dig holes and holes and holes, climb up rain pipe, nibble
on wood and get into attic spaces. But we are humane, and set
traps to catch the little buggers then relocate them to a local
wildlife area. Eleven last year, twelve this year. My neighbor
caught nineteen one year. Imagine forty chipmunks, an invasion,
But our wildlife area is large and full of chips and monks.
Well done.
Best wishes for a mousy free year.

Hi Robert,
Thank you for the fun comments about the topic and the writing.
I love that you are humane and capture those furry little varmints and set them free to live another day. You certainly seem to have more than your fair share.
Thank you for the wishes for a mousy free year. With these two cats I adopted and their father hanging around, I haven't seen a mouse in some time. We'll see what the change in weather brings.
Have a wonderful week.

I think this is wonderful! I love the rhythm of the verse, your very inventive rhymes and all the onomatopeia! I don't have the same fear of those little grey beasts but that doesn't matter because you definitely conveyed your own phobia here. Thanks for sharing, Debi. Really enjoyed its originality and fun! Hi Debbie,
Thank you for the fun review. I think my fear is due to an experience as a child. I put on a jacket and there was a mouse in the lining. I can still feel that little critter running around my ribs. Yes, I threw off the jacket and never wore it again. Now, snakes, spiders, bugs, I'm okay.
I'm glad you enjoyed the poem. Have a great week.

I am right there with you. I so hate to be snuggled in the middle of the night and hear that little irritating sound of these little gray creatures gnawing upon whatever they can. It's what true nightmares are made of. Thanks for sharing your irritating and scary thoughts with us.

Kurdos to you for working "Mini Minotaurs" into a fun, rhyming Halloween-type poem. Why didn't you enter it into the contest?
My inner demons? Spiders! I've grown used to snakes, lizards, and all manner of creepy things here in Florida, but I can't go to sleep knowing there is a spider in the room!
Trust in your cat - he's got you covered:-)
A fun one, Debi:-)

Hi Pam,
I'm glad you enjoyed this one. It was fun to write. Spiders don't bother me, but mice give me the creeps. It goes back to an incident I had as a child with a mouse in the lining of my coat. Yikes, that was terrifying!
Glad you liked the Mini Minotaurs.
